Oliver returned home rather dejectedly. The world's colors were swimming in his eyes, swirling and confusing before he rubbed his arms over them. He bypassed everything and went to his room, staring at the tan ceiling. Everything was muted tones, gray, brown, tan, or some variation, to give his eyes a rest from the insanity of the colors he had to endure. His eyes kept streaming, though this time he didn't bother drying them, and let the tears fall into his hair. He was so stupid... Would Emmery come back? Why was he dwelling on this? He just wanted to have Emmery, but that was impossible while the human was still caught up on someone.

When something downstairs slammed, he gasped and twisted, falling to the floor. He knew that yell, obviously, but it still scared him. He sprinted downstairs, bypassing his startled lizard and pausing at the foot of the stairs in front of Emmery. The feeling of sadness and fear came back stronger than it had been the first time, and he looked away. "... Well, yeah, what?"
