Five hours for stride gum? It has NEVER last that long for me. Usually the gum is done from 10 to 20 minutes. The chewing gum I use now doesn't last that long. But it actually says it is only supposed to last five minutes. And I LOVE the taste! Also the gum doesn't hurt my teeth (even though it has the hard shell) like stride does. Or any other gum.
