The woman sighed, looking up into the darkening sky, her foot shifting, hitting the sword that hung from the side of the horse. Turning, she slid off the beast and started to remove the old tack that was on it. Crests of the Cain family decorated just about everything, it was impressive the lengths that they went to, to make sure that it was scene. She carefully set the items on rocks the were near the tree they were next to, the saddle and blanket went down first, then the bridle.

Turning back to the bag, Dayna pulled a brush from one of the bags and began brushing the creature. He just stood there, much as always, letting the woman clean him up. Once done, she returned the brush to the bag. The horse lay on the ground, this told the woman that there would be no rain that night. Reaching back into that same bag, she pulled out two apples, offering one to the horse whom happily took the snack. She took the other, along with the sword and rest her back against the horse's belly.

Eating the apple, she looked at the weapon the in the fading light, even most of the moon light would be hidden beneath the leafy canopy. "The husband of my ancestor was one of the first to see the curse first hand," she said with a sigh as she offered the apple core to the horse, her now free hand tracing over the silver emblems. "I wonder what his role was, or hers for that matter," she then said before leaning her head against the warm belly of the large animal.

Though she would fall asleep, it wouldn't be a deep sleep. When on the hunt, or most nights for that matter, the brunette never fell into a deep sleep. She was far too alert to let it wash over her.
