King Edwin nodded. Perhaps Merida was right, but that wouldn't stop him from pursuing her. He knew better than to think that with the disappearances of his last few wives that it would be so simple to marry another woman and start again. He turned away from Merida for a moment, to find a guard that he could send home with her...

"One moment!" He said quickly, before he sent off the escort with her. "Please, wait here..." He turned and left the room for a moment. He didn't go too far, just down the corridor to the next room. This room was where he kept most of his gold and currency. The King grabbed a small satchel from one of his pockets and began to fill it with gold. He wasn't sure how much to give, but he felt he'd give enough to last a while, enough to buy food and clothing.

The moment he felt that the satchel was full, he tied it with a piece of twine and walked out of the room locking the door behind him. Then he made his way back down the corridor and smiled at Merida. "Here." He handed her the satchel, "For your children." He hoped she wouldn't refuse it, after all, he had more than enough money to give away. King Edwin smiled at Merida as he waited for his knight to fetch the horses and the carriage.

"Where is their father?" He asked, just out of curiosity. Hoping he could get some more information out of Merida before she left...
