Sapphire eyes slowly opened to their dim surroundings. The ship rocked steadily and she pushed herself up to a sitting position. Her powers had returned to her. She grabbed onto the chair and pulled herself up until she was standing. With the door still blocked, she turned to find Talon who must have still been in the room. "Thecaptain!" she exclaimed upon seeing him in the floor.
Azaela moved quickly to his side. Oh no, her dear new human friend! Had her powers caused this? There was blood on his hands and chest, it was everywhere. Azaela began to panic. How was she to know if a human was living or dead? She placed a hand on his arm. He was warm, was that a good sign? Now what. "Thecaptain?" she spoke quietly, unsure of what to think of his lifeless body on the floor. Would he wake?
Maybe he was hurt, and maybe she could try and use her magic to heal him. She placed both of her hands on his bare chest now and closed her eyes to concentrate. Nothing happened. She opened her eyes and frowned down at her hands. Why wasn't it working!? Azaela felt helpless. How could she tell if Talon was still alive? Surely he had a heart and that it would beat like any other living creatures. She leaned forward and placed her ear gently on his chest. She would hold her breath and wait for any signs of heartbeat or breath.
