The sky was just darkening with the approaching evening as Zain lazily strolled down the street. To anyone that observed him, he would seem like a random college student walking with no destination in mind. He was neither of those though. Even at 24, he was already a well know loan shark, having inherited the reputation from his father--a bastard of a man really, but he had some uses.

His bored expression suddenly twitched into a slight smirk as he caught sight of the pet shop sign across the street. His lazy pace quickened and he straightened his back. What was the appeal in a cute little sign with a cuddling cat and dog anyway? But he supposed a guy like him didn't need to see the appeal. He stopped a foot away from the door and took time to arrange any loose strands of his hair that might have dislodged from their artful arrangement. Satisfied, he strode inside and turned to sign in the door to closed, knowing full well that right before closing time, no one but a certain worker would be there.

"Hey there pretty thing. I was thinking of getting me a little kitten just like you," he announced in a low drawl.
