The birds Venus ran into were Phoenixs. He debated whether or not he should tell her. In the end he decided not to, it would probably just freak her out even more since something seems to be bothering her. Shinji nodded and helped Venus pick up her things and watched her walk off. He kept watching until she disappeared down the hall. Shinji then turned and headed for the dorms and when he finally reached the dorms he stopped at the snack machine and got him a bag of chips before heading up to his room. Once there he dropped his bag on the floor by his bed and looked out the window. He watched with curious eyes at the students scrambling around outside. Shinji opened up his laptop and started working on his last class' homework.
