Oliver felt an apprehensive twinge tighten in his chest, but he trusted Jean-Sal enough not to shrink away when his hand was directed to the cow's head, and immediately smiled, feeling a warm sense of familiarity. Like he had done this before. "Yeah..." He grinned, running his hand along the cow's fur, smoothing it down where it was raised. "Yeah... I've never been able to touch one... I mean, I could never get near them, let alone touch them." He followed Jean's direction, not moving quickly but not speaking loudly at the same time.

"Maybe I can convince my parents to let me around them... or horses." He said after a moment. He often looked outside the dome at the riders, and always felt jealous. "Could ride... That'd be nice." He pulled back, looking at Jean. "You're... so lucky to be around all these things every day. I'd give up everything if I could." He sighed, leaning on the fence a bit more and smiling at the cow. It was simple, but without it, life would be much harder.
