Nereus had moved to stand protectively over Shay when she'd walk to his side. He was a little surprised when Shay spoke up to the captain. That was certainly an unusual reaction from her. Glancing from his charge to Heiro, Nereus sighed. There were somethings that he couldn't protect Lady Shay from. "Yes, we're ready." Glancing down at the young woman, Nereus allowed himself to relax a little bit. The ship's credentials had been in order, and the captain seemed to know what he was doing. So for now, Nereus felt like Shay would be safe.
Karlin chuckled at Tal's reaction. Shrugging as he ran off, she looked around her kitchen critically. Tapping her lower lip lightly with a finger, Karlin moved with a sway to her hips to go and prepare the table for their guests. Setting out bowls, spoons, and the other necessary things onto the elegant table, Karlin was quite content with her task.
