You know how if you edit a post, you can still gain or lose gold from it? If you have enough content deleted from your posts and not enough gold to cover for it, your gold will go into the negatives.
I knew a girl several years back who had over 5k in gold debt because she accidentally broke a rule in RPs and a chunk of her posts had to be deleted.
