Then you should probably eat something.

Otherwise your body might get the impression that next time it eats might also be one time in a long time before you eat again. That sort of stress can cause it to store more of the food than it normally would. Most of it would be stores as fat, so the next time you go without eating it can use those reserves to nourish itself.

Course, who am I to talk, I'm a poor student living off frozen veggies, soupes, KD, PB&J, and cold slices. And never all in the same day. So my body is probably more confused than a deer caught in headlights.
