I'm sure it depends entirely on the compounds, like if they are artifical, they might be entirely removed from the makeup of actual chestnuts. Which would be great, I hate to think people are missing out. My friend, Simon, he has a pumpkin allergy (and a horse blood allergy, but that's a different story), and he insists on eating pumpkon every year on October 6th, just to "see if he is still allergic". He is, fyi. He's also completely nutty.
