The BIG question... How and WHY was Carn Killed?:

Sgt Carl knew that Jiro and Carn were in a secret relationship while Carn was with Suzu and therefore wouldn't report his gun missing, with his mistrust of law enforcement and with the sudden employment of out of towners who have been in trouble wih the law before, or so word on the wire says, that meant it was time to use Jiro's history with Carn against him. Jiro had to let Sgt Carl search his aparentment or the whole town would know about Jiro's relationship with Carn and about how he employed "dangerous persons". Sgt Carl checked the employment records and took the gun, knowing that Jiro would never be able to explain why his aparentment was being searched. Whistlin' Pete had been seeing Suzu alot and that they talked Carl dropped hints that Carn was seeing someone else knowing that this would get back to Suzu. Suzu spotting Carn and Anita together well that was just the cherry on the cake. Until Carl realized that Pete had said Carn was geing alot of post from Bai and Jiang and Chen punched Carn for getting sweet on Hazel. It all suddenly clicked together. Ccarn wasn't getting sweet on Hazel he was asking for advice on a proposal, all that post from Bai and Jiang sample wedding invites. Sgt Carl was in love with Suzu he couldn't let Carn get his woman, so having pursuaded Jiro to call both Anita & Carn to the bar for "drinks" he shot Carn though the door, only to arrive moments later having "followed" the couple and in the chaos after plant the gun next to Carn's body in an attempted to place the blame on Anita the scorned lover, who wanted Carn to leave Suzu for her with the ring being the last straw.
