Zay blinked a few times in confusion, then tried to run the mix through his mind. He'd seen a bat before; a small, black creature with a funny upturned nose, and wings like Vene's. It had been flying around near his favorite reading tree one day, when he stayed too late, and the sun was already setting. Zay then thought of a cat, the only cats he'd seen were forest cats of his world, which were quite big compared to a little bat. ..wouldn't a cat of eaten a bat?
