Amanda nodded as she listened to the nurse. After the nurse had left, she walked closer to the boy and took a seat on a nearby metal chair.

"Hi Vance," she said softly. "My name is Amanda. This is Jonas, and this is Friedrich," she continued, gesturing towards her friends. She waited to see if he would respond.
