Amanda nodded and leaned forward as she gazed at Vance. Meanwhile, Jonas and Friedrich each pulled up their own chairs to sit as well.

"Yes," Amanda replied to Vance's inquiry. "How are you feeling?"

As she spoke, her eyes scanned Vance's body to assess where he might have been injured during the fight that night. She knew that humans tended to be more physically fragile than magical creatures, and she wondered whether Vance's wound healing would be improved in his condition of, well, not being human anymore?
