"Oh come on now!" The blur shouted half-heartedly as It ran down the path with an angry screeching snake-woman chasing after It, "It wasn't even like I started it this time!"

The 'it' being what had previously been the reptilian's modest bar, tucked away inside a small cave that also functioned as the lair of the medusa. Of which a 'bonfire' was now merrily burning inside it, just all over the place and not inside a hearth.

Janus continued running (because It didn't want to deal with an angry being that can turn you into stone with a glare on a bad day) for another ten minutes before the medusa finally gave up, shrieking one more insult in Its direction before she slithered back towards her lair. It let out a small sigh It hadn't known It had been holding. That had been far more troublesome than It had anticipated, and it truly hadn't been Its fault this time around! At least the stupid little gnome had gone down with the explosion that took place.

The fire demon looked around. The path It had ran down was a different one from where It'd traveled along to reach the small bar, and now It had no idea where It was. Shrugging, It decided It didn't care, and simply went along with the unpaved road. The air was dry and nice, there didn't appear to be a storm coming, and now that It was no longer being chased, It felt relaxed and optimistic. Sure, the bar had gone up in flames before It could learn anything useful from the patrons, but Janus had managed to enjoy a small snack consisting of a nice chicken sandwich before the shit hit the fan and the soul of the stupid gnome before It had to run from the angry matron. Sooner or later It'll be able to find another bar or maybe a village or something and It can ask around for news or maybe a mission or two to take on. The continuing war meant a rising need for combat mercenaries, which meant good business for It. Janus may be ill-suited for espionage operations, but if there was one thing It knew how to do, it was how to charge in head-on and fight with tooth and nail (quite literally) until someone, generally the opponent, drops.
