The closest I've come to a hummingbird is when I had to nurse one back to health. It got stuck up in my two-story garage and didn't know how to get out; beat its wings until it was so tired that it just collapsed to the ground and we had to get it a plate full of sugar water to get its energy back up. It actually let me pet its head with my finger then flew away after ten minutes or so once it was back to full health. It's really cute to watch their little tongues slurp up the water.
