Taka was taken back for a moment. He didn't know how to wash someone else, after all he wasn't a mother, but then again how hard could it be. "Of course," he answered. He put out the fire and led the boy down to the river, collecting wood on the way.

He knew that the water would be cool and with the air cool, the boy would need to warm up afterwards. Once the fire was roaring he undressed and helped the boy undress. He bathed them, doing his best to teach the boy how to do it himself. He couldn't believe how much this assignment had changed his life, from cold blooded killer to nurturer in less than twenty four hours. When he was finished he carried the boy up the bank to the fire and wrapped his cloak around Tomoe's shoulders.
