Gemini sensed that she was getting closer. She was moving at a hard gallop now, sides heaving with labored breath. Her white coat glistened with sweat, but she didn't let up. The sun was almost too high, almost too hot. She was so focused on running that she almost ran right past him altogether. She skidded to a halt, kicking up sand as she did, and snorted hard. "Shail!" She looked at him, wide-eyed. "Can you hear me? Can you stand up?" She moved closer so that her shadow was covering him, offering at least a temporary relief.
