As the horse knelt, Shail got a better grip on her mane. He was only half listening to her words, but the gesture wasn't lost on him. He was to climb up and with an awkward lean, he rolled onto the creature's back. It took more effort to swing his leg to the other side, but he was soon straddling the horse with both hands now twisted in the mane. The entire time, he looked at her with a dazed, but awed sort of look. "The spirits like me. They always come rescue me," he continued to murmur as his fingers stroked the fur of the horse's neck.
