He was right, of course. Rose should drink, his dry mouth all but begged her at this point, but she didn't want to give in. He had sunk her hopes and dreams with that ship, as well as her new furry friend. Just that thought alone brought more tears to her eyes, she hadn't truly known loss before, why would she? Her family had always been healthy and strong. She squeezed her eyes shut, holding by the tears that did no good. They didn't sway him, he was cold and uncaring she and wished ill upon him.

Yet, despite all the strength she told herself she possessed, she took the offered cup of water, holding it tightly between both hands and bringing it to her rosy lips. She sipped at it, it was cool and fresh and eased the burn in her throat on its way down. She mumbled something akin to a thank you, her manners something she hadn't forgotten despite the situation. It took all her energy to sit so calmly, to not yell at him, fighting him, rail on him for his actions today, knowing it would do little good. What she couldn't stop was the tremble in her hands, for each ounce of anger in her body, there was equal fear, she was afraid of her fate on this ship, of what would become of her after all of this. Her thoughts taking a dark turn, she forgot to grip the cup, it slipped from her hands, the remaining water spilling into her lap and dripping to the floor. In the quiet room the cup was loud as it clattered across the planks and she cringed. Stunned into stillness she didn't react, after her outburst with the wine, she wasn't sure how he would take this.

Giving up on making himself comfy, he allowed her to work with minimal protests, barely feeling her touch on his skin. It stung when she tended to the wound, he grimaced when he looked down at the cut, it didn't look so bad, but the mess he'd made of the stitches sure didn't help anything. He felt bad that she had gone through so much work and he ruined it in his gluttonous state.

Was his cabin unusually warm? It felt like it. He could hear Ariel talking, if only she wouldn't take to him from the other side of them room. His eyes tried to focus, she was right in front of him? It seemed strange and his blinked a few times trying to clear the fog that covered his mind. She had said no more ale, but he felt like he had drank an entire bottle. She needed the medicines? He caught that bit of her speech and he managed to bang on the wall behind him, slamming his fist against the wooden planks. He grunted at the effort, but continued until the door of his cabin groaned when it was opened, the burly sailor from earlier peaking in. "Davey, lass here needs access to that doctorin' chest that we brought on. I'm sure cook has already taken charge of it, but he can spare a bit o' supplies for me. Show her where to find it, eh?" His words were slurred a bit, as if he was drunk, and he struggled to make sentences. He must have managed well enough because the silent man nodded and motioned towards Ariel to follow him. Cook wouldn't be happy about someone else doing the doctoring on the ship, but he wasn't letting that butcher anywhere near him.

And while she was busy with that, he figured it wouldn't hurt from him to get a bit of shut eye. He groaned at the effort it took to even think about laying down and instead he just rested his head back against the wall and closed his eyes. It would have to do for now.
