A gentle hand stroked the backside of the sleeping Unai's head. "It's nearly night," she whispered. "We must go now before it's too late."

It had been a long week for the poor sleeping woman. Hell, it had been a long month. No, two months. Maybe even year? Either way, her body lacked the sleep it needed. Finally feeling safe enough to sleep, she drifted off into a deep sleep. She had been sleeping for a solid two days but that couldn't continue on. The monsters of the island were hunting them, eager to devour the precious Unai child. It was time to move before it became too late.

A cold nose pressed against her chin. The soft tickling of eyelashes kissed her cheek.

"Please wake up, Faline."

Ears pulled back, a low growl came to her throat. Her blue eyes could sense them. They were at the foot of the mountain they took shelter in. This region of the island was no longer safe. Sure, she could send them scattering, but it would alert the plane that landed on the island. And that, well that wouldn't do. Faline was here for a reason. She had a mission to finish. And the woman with blue eyes wouldn't let her leave until it was done.

Nose to the wind, she breathed in the familiar. Three scents all caused her heart to swell and her eyes to find passion. "Don't get yourselves in too much trouble," she cooed out the cave. Of course, her whisper died with the wind. They would never know it, but she still wished them well. If anyone could help aid Faline from afar, it was those three. Well, and the two other Unai that kept them company.

Flickering her tail over Faline's nose, she finally caused the woman to stir. "Heavens, gather your supplies. We must make a break for it now. I can hold them off but we shouldn't alert the entire island of our whereabouts. We need to be as stealthy as we can."

Her bare toes dipped outside the cave. Hands on the walls of the mountain, she snaked her way down the stony path. "Come, come," she coaxed.

Having had no time to exchange more than just a first name, Aleu, the woman slid her way down to the next level of the moutain. She was Lypheion in nature, that much was easy to tell. However, the young Unai didn't know to what degree. For you see, the woman she kept as company was not just any Lypheion, but a royal Lypheion. A pureblood, hence the permanent ears atop her head and the swishing tail on her behind.

Her nose, as sharp as a Unai's, found the scent of the ones Faline feared. With another growl, her fangs became visible. In a swift shift, what was once half-human, half-beast, was now a large, silver and black wolf. Fangs bared, she growled at the darkness that crept up the mountain.

"You go," she barked, "I'll hold them off."
