Within this realm sits a tavern, the Dusklight Tavern. It is a building that is connected to all realms, though it is only accessible once dusk falls, no matter the realm. Leaving Dusklight should be easier than finding it. Should be. Dusklight is in perpetual dusk, and thus the connection to the other realms is never broken, however plenty of creatures have found themselves trapped within Dusklight. Unable to cross through the borders between realms to return home. The doorways do not hide, one can often find them easily, but crossing them sometimes is a very difficult, very impossible thing to do.

Dusklight Tavern is situated in the center of the Shadowlight Forest, and it is within this forest that the doorways to other realms rest. Some may be pools of shadowy water, or a tree, perhaps even a tiny rock. The doorways aren't hidden, not really. They each give off their own special aura around them. Dusklight, for some realms, is used to exile. Exiles are often sent through into Dusklight, and from there they can pick any other realm to escape to, assuming that they are able to slip through the borders, to leave Dusklight.

Not many know of this realms existence though. A select few rulers, and a number of people from various places that have stumbled upon it by accident know, but often they can never find their way back once they have left. Some realms tell horror stories of a place called the realm of Shadows, most of those stories were made from sliver of truths about Dusklight, to frighten people into better behavior. That isn't to say Dusklight is a safe environment, many creatures dwell within the Shadowlight Forest, creatures of violence and limited intelligence, and even a single dragon seems to lurk about at times. The forest is dangerous, full of wild and vicious creatures, but they all seem to stay away from the tavern. As if kept back by some spell or perhaps the fear of something else.

Kurako sat in the Dusklight Tavern, a corner table, his chair situated so he could see the whole room. The shadows of the corner and the shadows of his hood kept his face hidden from view, his clothing was a mix of elven and human finery, though to most humans it seemed very elvish, and to most elves it seemed very humanish. The half elf didn't mind being mistaken for one or the other. He kept his hood up to hide his heritage, and the hide the black markings on his face. On the table stood a crystalline figurine, carved into the shape of a unicorn. The figurine itself emitted the aura of a unicorn, as if this figurine had been made from some part of one of the sacred equines. It had, the figurine was carved from a unicorn's horn. A crystal horn from the most sacred of unicorns. A crystal unicorn.

His gloved hand hovered over the figurine, the tip of one finger lightly touching the horn of the figurine. It's magic had not worked, it had coursed through his body, wracking him with nearly unbearable pain, but the unicorn magic, the strongest of unicorn magic, could not purify him. Perhaps a living crystal unicorn could have purified him, but the magic essence that lingered within this figure, though stronger than any other magical artifact he had thus found, was not enough. There was a slight frown on his lips, his lavender eyes focused solely on the figure that his finger rested on. Thinking.

It was probably dangerous to have such a thing out in the open like this, if someone entered that could sense or feel auras, they would undoubtedly have an idea of what Kurako possessed, there was also the fact that someone might just be interested in having the figurine solely based on how pretty it was, how valuable it looked. The half elf had half a mind to just hand it over to the first person that asked about it, but he wouldn't. He had gone to a realm where unicorn's were said to be extinct, to find this. He found a living unicorn, but that sweet creature could not help him either, Kurako had fought the darkness within him, demons, devils and all manner of beings to get this crystalline figure.

But it's magic could not save him.

Now Kurako sat in the realm between realms and contemplated his next course of action, the point and purpose of his cursed life.
