Take my darkest fears and play them like a lullaby, like a reason why.

Piercing pale lavender eyes glared up at Vlad. “Shut up,” she hissed as she forced herself to her feet. What he said was true and it pissed her off. The woman had almost killed herself and for what? To save the likes of him, Volkov and the others. What she had done was brave, but had been stupid. “I swear if I could I’d wipe that smug look off your face right now.” Vex moved slowly, resting here wasn’t an option any more. She would just have to get to her room. If she could use her Purium she could be there in an instant, but right now that was out of the question.

A familiar voice came from behind the silver haired woman,
“Vex,” the voice was stern and slightly harsh. She froze in place for a moment. The last thing she wanted to do right now was be confronted by an agent, especially if the agent was Sycom. A hand gripped her arm a little roughly, “Vex what do you think you’re doing? If you won’t rest in the infirmary you should rest in your room. Come on.” The voice was familiar, one she knew well. She managed to grin as she finally looked at the male beside her. “I was just on my way to my room. If you really want to be with me that much dear all you had to do was speak up sooner.” What she said sounded better in her head than it had when she spoke. Trying to joke and flirt when in this condition wasn’t as great of an idea as she had originally thought.

Sycom escorted Vex to her room. Once the door was closed the senior agent started lecturing the criminal. Both of their voices could be heard in the hallways as they argued and yelled at each other. “I know you are just trying to be a friend and look out for me Sycom, but really there isn’t much you can do. Yes I disobeyed an order, but if I hadn’t where would you and everyone else be? I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t especially care for everyone in Division One. Even so that doesn’t mean that I won’t fight to protect everyone. I thought you knew me better than that.” The woman’s voice grew a little sad as she frowned at the man before her. “Vex, I just don’t want to lose anyone. Especially not a friend.” The pair continued to go at each other for a while longer. The senior agent finally left after the criminal requested he leave before something happened that they both would regret.

A little while later Vex emerged from her room, dressed in her usual attire. She returned to the living area where she hoped to find empty. Of course she had her doubts of being that lucky considering how her day had been going. Right now she just wanted some hot tea and to relax with a book. That wasn’t too much to ask for right?
