Gemini snorted derisively. Even from humans, she had expected a little more of a fight. Didn't they care at all about their own? Typical mortals. She thought, watching them walk away. Anything to save their own skin. Anything to pass off the responsibility to someone else. It was disgusting. Once she was satisfied that the soldiers would not come back, she turned around and headed back for the cave. Her form shifted as she walked, until she was once again a young woman.
Entering the cave, she sensed something was amiss. Narrowing her eyes, she walked further in, past the first chamber and into the second. There was no sound of breathing, no human sounds at all. Was Shail hiding? But...humans couldn't hold their breath for that long. "Hu- I mean, Shail...?" She corrected herself from almost calling him human again. She remembered his breathing incident from the day before and started to worry. Had he stopped breathing? She ran to his alcove to check on him.
