It sucks when parents do that to their kids. My mom was the one who suggested Math to me, but it was because I didn't know what I wanted to major in after I got my Associates degree, and as she put it "You're taking math you don't need for your degree over the summer, so that you can take Calculus, which you also don't need, in the fall. I think you might want to consider Math as a major..."
