It really hadn't been so bad. It was actually, amazing! Lyra got to look at things without being told to or not to, and she'd gotten to feel some of them. She'd never been allowed to touch anything in her world that wasn't handed to her for one reason or another. She wanted to touch more things!

When he told her to keep doing what she wanted and that he wouldn't be far, Lyra smiled. She didn't mean to, it just happened. It was a strange feeling. A happiness welled up inside her and then her eyes got all squinty and her lips were curving in a direction they might not ever have before. It was beautiful; a smile that could have lit up her world, had it had the chance.

She stopped smiling though soon after, having been shocked by it. She'd liked it though. A lot. She wanted to smile more, and touch more things! Golden eyes followed his finger to see Solaris and someone she hadn't seen before. Lyra's joy shrank back inside her and she began to feel anxious again. Another person. Surely all three of these people couldn't be good and trustworthy.

Lyra had moved backwards a step or two, though she hadn't realized she'd done it. She was standing equal with Kurako and suddenly, most of the progress made, was lost. She stared across the grounds at the pair, and then found Kurako again. He would protect her, she reminded herself. She closed her eyes and breathed air in, and then let it out in a cleansing action, opening her eyes again. They would go, to Solaris.

But Lyra would certainly not lead the way on this one. She couldn't bring herself to do it. She faced Kurako. She wanted to touch his arm, or even his chest or collar bone, but she found that there was no bare skin anywhere but his face. She reached out, asking again.

When her hand touched his cheek, she sent the feeling of wanting to go see Solaris, and the newcomer. She sent a feeling of bravery. She sent trust. Lyra hadn't tried hard enough this time though to only send information, and when she was done sending her's, she accidentally stole some. While wondering why his skin was so covered all over and wanting to touch him anywhere else, Lyra had stolen a split second of an image of his skin. Perhaps as it had been seen in a mirror, only his memory.

Immediately she removed her hand, quickly, as if she had been bitten by something. He wouldn't know what she had seen, or that she'd seen anything at all, only that she was feeling brave and that she wanted him to lead them to Solaris. Lyra held her hand and looked away from him quickly. Surely he would be furious if he knew she'd stolen a look at that memory.

It was probably a strange thing for him, to feel her bravery, and see her retract like that. She wouldn't touch him again, she couldn't. She was too curious now and wouldn't be able to stop the intake of information. What were those lines all over him? Were they still there? Is that why he covered himself, even his hands? She wouldn't be able to keep herself from taking that information. Lyra stepped away from him now, but would follow if he moved to go to Solaris.
