Used to it, Samir let Emery pulled them to the desks where he took the one farther away from the window. As much as he enjoyed everything about their summer vacation, a buzz of excitement made his shoes jitter against the floor. "I can't wait for English class!" he beamed. "And history and science!" Everything really. He grinned at Emery for another second before turning back to the front of the room. All the other students were settling into their desks in wait for the coming lesson. Adjusting his glasses, Samir turned his full attention to the board as Ms. Daisy started to speak.

The social studies and English lessons passed by with papers filled out and handed around, whispered comments between Samir and Emery, and the sound of large, loopy words written on the board. By the time the bell released them, Samir was even more excited than when the class started. Grabbing Emery's hand, he forgot his own shyness in order to pull the other boy back into the hall for their music class. Not his favorite, but still fun.

"This year is great! I'm so glad we get to sit next to each other. Ms. Daisy is really cool!" Catching his breath, Samir slowed his step, trying not to look as excited as he was.
