Samir's mother never had the same luxury that the two kids had. Even with a talented matchmaker, it still took her years to follow her red thread to to the right man. And some days, she still felt that the two boys talking about books looked more in love. They were too young still for the real meaning of romance, but the love was still there, perfect. Finally, she interrupted them after minutes of watching. "The lemonade is ready. Do you want vegetable or pork samosas today?" She smiled, pushing back her long dark hair with elegant fingers. Indeed, she couldn't be more proud of the two boys, but now wasn't the time to think hard about it.

Samir held tight to the math papers they just started, not yet wanting to let go even if he felt a similar disinterest in the subject. He just held onto the idea that one day it might become very useful. "We have pork mum?! Ah, Emery, do you want pork today...?" he asked with a hint of hesitation although he perked up immediately at the mention of the samosas. It was only right to let Emery pick since he was pretty sure Emery just let him pick the books. At least they got to pick together.

"Of course. Should I heat up some of both for you?" Ushering the children into the kitchen, Samir's mother started pulling plastic containers from the fridge.
