Samir pouted even though he knew that Emery was right. Sometimes he suspected that they could get away with anything because the whole town loved these two boys bonded so early. Samir was old enough to realize that now--not just that they were special, but that everyone almost revered them for it. Squeezing Emery's hand, he let himself continue to be pulled until they were in the park itself.

"I know. It's because you're my soulmate that I let you pull me here, you know," he murmured, the words just for Emery and not the other boys and two feisty looking girls that made up the group, one of which seemed to have dragged their sibling from a grade up into their game. If not for the thrill of excitement that started in his toes, Samir might feel nervous to take part in the fight. "And besides, I like winning almost as much as you."
