Shail wouldn't promise what the fox asked, but he didn't refuse it now either. Without a doubt, he would try to escape later, but he'd do it smartly, acting only when sure he could pull it off. Even if others had to suffer, he would act his own way. A pang broke though his thoughts so that he was forced to stop lest the emotion grow stronger whether it was guilt or hurt bothering him.

After a second, Shail stood to follow the creature into its own cave. He wavered a bit, like even a gust of wind might blow him over. He did not however turn over his shoulder. Even if his thoughts returned to his home there, he didn't show it on his face. Instead, he blinked his eyes clear from the remains of his coughing fit and walked to the cave.
