i once read this thing about saying good night to the monsters because nobody else does
ever since ive been thinking
maybe if you get on their good side you could turn them into guard-dogs of sorts instead of worrying about them mauling you in your sleep
(fighting paranoia with fantasy reasoning is always the way to go imo)
