Man, I can really empathize with that. I grew up poor too (our needs were covered, but barely and in part because we lived on a farm) and no lie, I got a little in over my head with my first credit card. Not much, mind, but in the middle of paying it off we buried two family members and I missed a lot of work helping my mom deal with the funerals/estate. Sooo yeah.
