Honestly, while I love the idea of an audio book, hearing problems plus attention problems equal nothing good for retaining what's read to me. It's less of a problem with podcasts, because those are usually shorter and more of a performance, which equals more vocal projecting.
And as much as I love physical copies of books, I tend to use e-readers almost exclusively these days. It's so much easier to carry hundreds of books with me, and cheaper to buy the books I want. Also I read quickly, so battery issues generally aren't.
