It was usually quiet around the strange house. People tended to keep their distance from it, inexplicably frightened by something they could not see or really even sense. So, it immediately caught its sole resident's attention when he heard a car approaching.
Wyatt peered out of the small, rounded window of the attic, where he usually stayed, at the approaching car with annoyance. He was a loner while he was alive, and in death it appeared that he was no different. His only form of entertainment nowadays was scaring away new potential homeowners. He took his time assessing the family while they settled in. There was an older man and woman and who appeared to be their daughter...
People who were younger tended to be more sensitive to his antics, he'd noted over the years. So naturally, he chose the daughter as his first target. Scaring her would eventually lead to scaring her parents...and hopefully, the family would leave and never return. He drifted through the walls and doors of the house, on the girl's tail, until she settled down to sleep. He decided not to bother waking her. For now, giving her a creepy feeling would be enough for him.
Wyatt stood by the edge of her bed, staring rather profusely at her...directly at her closed eyes. From his experience, this tended to give people a creepy feeling...
