I've read some books recently and all i can think about it "wow, this would be great as a movie." The most recent one that i think should be a movie is Unwind. (I don't remember the author right now) If they went along with the book, it could be a real tear-jerker for a lot of young adults.

I think "The Immortals Series" by Tamora Pierce would make a wonderful movie. It would probably be an action/adventure with some romance thrown in near the middle and end; the perfect movie <3

Regency Masquerade by Joan Smith. It'd be a romantic comedy.

They're in the process for making William Gibson's Neuromancer into a movie...

@ Shugo : I actually think that the quartet with Alanna would be a better movie. It would rely less on special effects, and it is a more classic storyline.

As for what I think should be a movie... Those books by Cassandra Clare, I can't remember what the series is called, but City of Bones, City of ashes, city of glass.

I would love to see the Evernight series as a movie or 4... same with the Magic or Madness trilogy, that'd be freaking awesome to see big screen.
I'd also love to see Ella Enchanted done RIGHT not the BS version they made, and the same author's book, Wish, as a movie, that was a cool book. :3

Oh! -jumps up and down- I'm pretty sure the rumors that the House of Night series will come to the big screen are true, but if not, then that's the beginning of what I think should become movies. Then there's Shiver by Maggie S. And then there's Scribbler of Dreams by Mary E. Pearson...ha I can just go on all day. XD

I agree the Ella Enchanted they made is BS, i think thats cuz they felt only young kids read the book so they would make it on what they felt was a young kids mind level.

I would like the Chronicles of Vladimir Tod to be made into a movie.

A book I think that would make a good movie would be The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Very good book.

The books that I think should made into movies are the second and third Inheritance books.

Not of they mashed them like they did Eragon!

Series of Unfortunate Events could be interesting. I didn't like the book series, so I think the movies could actually beat the book. Snicket's short rants all throughout killed me.

One I'd actually like is the Edge chronicles, since I think all movies should have sequels. :)

They did do this as a movie, but it was like the first 3 books together in one movie, so it kinda left you wanting more.

Unwind is a very good book and I agree it would make a good movie. I love Shusterman's books and I think I lot of them would make good movies as long as they were done right and not butchered like Twilight. -_-


I think the Midnighter series by Westerfeld would be cool as a movie if it could be done right as well. It would be something that I don't think has been done yet, to the best of my knowledge.


And as much as the writing in the books suck, I would love to see the House of Night books made into movies. I think the story would be much better that way since a lot of my issue with the books is the narrative and how valley-girl-ish it is. The movie would cut a lot of that out and I think it would be less annoying that way. ^_^

I second the City of Bones, City of ashes, City of glass. Also I would love to see the Abhorsen Series done by Garth Nix <3 A nice dark fantasy, it would be very epic.

@ Madness: OoOoO..... I likes THAT idea! Abhorsen is goood... and it'd be like a decent zombie movie!

I honestly should re-read the books, I've forgotten a lot of details.

Apperently I've heard they are making Pride and Prejudice and Zombies into a movie?

I think that The Morganville Vampires series needs amovie. but its so long theyd probably only make it a series or web series.

It's full of action and awesomeness.

I thionk that 'the soldier son trilogy' by Robin Hobb should be a movie or series of movies, perferrably the series cuz it is just so AWESOME!!!!!! The characters in the books would be so awesome on screen and it's just be so cool!
Hmm...another one I'd have to say is good is 'The Curs of the Pharaoh' by Elizabeth Peters, it's a slightly older book and it's written a little old fashioned but it is still REALLY good! I'd highly recommend it and it'd make an awesome movie!
Hmm...As mentioned before the other books in the Eragon series would make an excelent series of movies but only if the people actually making them didn't completely RUIN them like they did for the first movie!

I think The Giver would make an excellent movie, though it would be had to make. Has anyone here read it?

I think the vampire acadmey would make a good movie, mainly because its the best of both worlds, you have your romance and you action :]
