::Story::

Cities toppled and now rogue and tame beastly humans roam the streets searching for their next meals, and for some the pieces of their shattered dreams. Torn apart by the new world brought about by a catastrophic disaster caused by spliced humans of strange animal like DNA. Some were almost gloriously beautiful, yet so fragile that at times.. Even the slightest breeze seemed to be that of a great force.

Others, so strong and at times hideous and wild, that not even elephants had the strength to match.. Some of which anyone hid and fled the area, since they were often crazed and rabid. Over come with the power they held, that their mental bonds snapped like simple twigs under the weight.

At the same time, there are more well balanced individuals. Many of which have banded together into gangs, or bands of people. Since as they always say, better in numbers than alone.

::My Post::

Angel shifted, as he poked around the quiet yet desolate neighborhood.. At least what was left of it. He had actually grown up there, but at that time.. It was a more lively and less ruined area. Sighing, he ran a hand through his short chestnut hair, green-gold eyes scouring for anything he could salvage. This was something he did every day, for nearly five years. This day was not any different than the day before, or the day a year after all hell broke loose. There really wasn't anything here, nothing more he could get and squirrel away.

Twenty.. He had hoped to have celebrated this year with his friends. But that didn't happen, and now he looked like some.. Weird science project. With orange and white feline ears, and a long.. Weird tail. It didn't have any fur but for the white-paintbrush-shaped-fur at the end. On his back, a small brown and black wing. Only long enough to cover half his back, but the left wing.. Small, and not entirely grown out, and it will never be fully grown. At times he had even a hard time calling that small.. Skin like appendage a wing. It barely had any feathers left, from all the fights he had to get himself out of. The stub only the size of his hand.

".. This sucks." Angel huffed and sat down on a piece of upturned road, then looked up towards the sky where the now red-tainted sun started to sink.

Gabriele let out a small sigh as she flew lazily in the sky above, looking for a safe place to seek shelter for the night. She circled the city by blocks, watching the scenes below. Her brown and gold speckled wings fluttered in the turbulence, "I think that spot might do for the night, waht do you think?" She asked and a small head popped out from between her wings.

The boy wore a black tattered fedora, using it to hide his large fennec fox ears. He was dressed in a pair of dark green trousers and a rust colored shirt, "I think it should work, though I have to pee again." He smiled, his tail swished a bit at the thought of being on the ground again. He pulled off his hat and tousled his sand brown hair before replacing the hat.

"Thanatos, you always have to pee." Gabriele laughed. She loved the kid like he was her own child, having raised him since he was created in the lab and dumped in the same cell as hers. He was six now and she, nineteen, though that didn't stop the motherly feelings she had for the child. Her russet hair was pulled back into a low scholar's knot, with two strands of hair framing her face. She looked down at her clothes, a baggy shirt with the back shredded for her wings and a pair of black cargo shorts, filled with supplies.

"Lets hope nobody spotted us and are curious enough to investigate where we are going to hide out for the night." The woman smiled smiled as she circled down, her wings slowing down the glide to the ground below.

At the sight of the winged person circling down, the mutant stared quietly for a moment, when he realized there was a smaller form on the back.. Slowly he stood up, it could mean that they were not a threatening force. Then again, if it were a parent and a child, that he already labeled as nearly as dangerous as one of the hulking crazed ogres (as he liked to call them).

At the same time, if they were, then they would need some sort of help. Why else would someone land this late in the evening in a place like this? Curious, and determined to keep any casualties in his neck of this cursed world. The mutant followed after the two strangers, hopefully he'd be able to be recognized as some one who isn't out to harm them.

Gabriele landed on the ruins of an old house, figuring that this was a safe place to rest for the night, "Don't go away too far now." She told the boy as he jumped off of her back and jumped down the half destroyed stairs.

The boy looked around, his nose sniffing for food and others as he explored, heading out to the front of the building and quickly pissed in the bushes before heading into what was left of the kitchen, opening the cabinets in search of any food that was still around.

Gabriele searched the top floors, finding that one of the rooms were okay to bunk in and made sure she was able to get through the open window if they needed a quick escape.

Watching as the form landed on the house, she must be pretty light since roof did not break under the weight. Or she was lucky enough to find a spot strong enough to hold her weight, and the weight of what ever climbed off her back. Angel glanced behind him for a moment then back at the house, just in time to see what looked like a boy bound back into the structure. How would he approach these two?

He didn't want to scare them, though that did not seem avoidable. So he took in a breath and braced himself mentally just in case things turned for the worse.. Stepping towards the house, the smell of urine became very noticeable. Angel's nose scrunched up slightly, and paused by the door way, he leaned in to look around. "Hello?" Angel spoke out into the house, perhaps they might hear him?

Thanatos froze when he heard the new voice and looked about, hoping the newcomer didn't know where he was. The small boy sniffed at the air, Hopefully he leaves. He thought to himself, sitting down in the pantry where he had been searching for food.

Gabriele looked down through the missing boards in the floor and at the newcomer. Her instincts screamed at her to run and grab Thanatos, but another half of them told her to confront the newcomer. Her wings ruffled up a bit as she walked down the ruined stairs and towards the front door, "Who are you and what side are you on?" She asked, her hands slid into the pockets of her pants, holding onto the pair of knives she kept.

Angel's ears perked up as he heard hurried foot steps, though the alarmed tone from the woman made him take a step back. Raising his hands slowly, "Hey, I'm not an enemy if that's what you mean. At least I don't think I am.." He answered quickly, glancing over his shoulder as his heel met the edge of the concrete step. Then he looked back at the woman, waiting to see if she approved of his remark or not. Noting the hands in her pockets, he assumed she had something hidden in them. Probably a weapon, if not something that could be used as one.

Angel could not help but wonder where the smaller person was, probably some where in the vicinity by the way the woman postured her self. "If anything I don't mean any harm..." He added in what to him felt like an awkward pause, at least he felt awkward standing with his hands above his head. As if he were talking to a police woman of some kind, with this thought he was tempted to kneel down or something.

"Then what are you doing here?" Gabriele asked, not trusting him still. She learned from past experiences that you shouldn't trust people. Her wings shuffled a bit, blocking the doorway to the kitchen where Thanatos hid, thinking of the escape routes that they could do.

Thanatos sat there in the pantry, holding onto his feet, ready to run when the moment came. He had to run multiple times before and knew what to do if there was trouble.

"I'm here out of concern, this is not a safe area.. I doubt others are safer. But I know this area and the things that lurk and saunter. I do neither of those. It is best if you plan on staying around of any period of time. Then you ought to have someone around who can help. I know the places where we can find food and water.. You've found shelter already, but I know you wont find anything in here." Angel pointed out to the woman, then gingerly he held his hand to her, "I'm Angel, and if I was dangerous I would have already attacked. Well if I was any danger to you or your smaller friend." He was trying hard to make a valid point, and he did know the better places for food and water. He pretty much thrived mainly in the area the girl and child had decided to rest in. In his mind he held a very valid point, if he wanted to cause trouble then he would simply attack already. What point was there in trying to get someones trust if he wanted to hurt?

It maybe a naive point of view, but Angel did not see any flaws or shadows in the reasoning. The brutes in the area were mindless hulking masses of muscle and flesh. He had yet to face an intelligent foe, then again he lived in a place of little regards to those seeking to expand their territories and or destroy the abominations that science had created. With the barrenness it was a wonder why anything would still be hanging around the rubble of nothingness.

"Why would you want to help us? We've never met before and if anything, the only people me and my young friend have ran into were enemies." Gabriele glared at the man, trying to come up with multiple reasons for why he'd come over to them, not liking any of the outcomes, "Give me a good reason to believe you." Thanatos crawled out of the pantry curiously and peered from the doorway, the optimistic one of the two, "He can't be that bad... He doesn't seem like the others. Gabby, maybe we should trust him."

Indeed they have never met before, frowning slightly for a a few seconds before giving a small smile. "Why would one need to meet before, to be concerned and willing to lend a hand? If all people were that cold of heart, or I should say frigid. Then none of would be here." He pointed out, rather glad he was blessed with the skill of speech and that he paid close attention to English classes. The small voice from behind hear easy to hear he could not help but lean a little to the side to see if he might by chance see the owner of the voice. Grinning, "Now there is a voice of reason. The only others are brutes who have not a mind left about them. And as you can see.." He turned his back slightly towards her so she could see small good wing, and the very withered poor wing on his back. "If you were to take flight I would not be able to catch you. I am sure, your more adept in flight than I. Plus, I have no weapons on my person, and if I did... They would be in plain sight." He held up his hands slowly, showing he really did not have any place to hide a weapon.

"Fine, but the first time you try anything, you better start running." Gabriele agreed, though waited a few moments before letting her wings move back down behind her back more and Thanatos was visible. The boy was smiling until he saw the state of the man's wing, "What happened?"He moved so he stood in between Gabriele's wings and her legs, his arms wrapped around her leg. Gabriele slid her hands out of her pockets and held one out, "Gabriele, and he's Thanatos." She introduced them.

"If I do try anything, then I'll crawl so you can catch me. The name is Angel, but I think I already told you my name.. I think, I actually don't remember.. And my wings? Well you can say I was not a full success.." His tail wrapping around his waist at the other thoughts. "Also a few scuffles against the brutish ogres I've told you about.. One nearly bit off the wing entirely, thus it's even smaller state and lack of feathers.." Angel thought for a moment as he watched the two, a child was indeed something that one would need a bounty of help to protect.

"It is a pleasure though, to meet you both. It is rather lonely out here alone. Perhaps I can join you both inside?" He asked and stepped up to the pair, seeking some shelter where he would not be alone. Even for one night.

((I've been accepted into a school. =D yay! But I'm going to be really busy, so I don't know when I'll be able to reply again, I'm sorry. I have to start packing cause I'll have to leave where I am Monday..))

"Fine, but don't forget that the first sign of you trying to do something and you'll be gone before you knew what happened." Gabriele told him before heading into the kitchen, Thanatos scurrying behind her, "So did you find anything to eat?" She asked the child.

Nate looked up and over to Angel, "Not really... We could go hunting if we need to... Though I'm not sure we'll find much..." He sighed.
