  • Right now I'm watching the movie "Muppet Treasure Island" and I've also seen and like "A Muppet Christmas Carol". I know there are other muppet renditions of classic stories, but I don't know what they are, right now XD. Anyone else like any of these movies?

Heh, those are the only ones I really know. ^_^; But I love both of them. <3 Ahh the memories. :P

Does The Labyrinth count, as it is Jim Henson and whatnot? o-o

  • No, it doesn't really count as it's not a redone classic, it's an original classic, but you can talk about it in this thread lol, same with Dark Crystal. They're both great movies. David Bowie = great XD.

My fave is The Muppets Christmas Carol, because they just add that classic touch of happiness and humor to the story.
Muppets have turned it into something thats enjoyable to watch ^___^

  • Yeah, they have a tendency to do that. I love the way they stick random adult humor in there, it's quite fun.

Oh wow I can't believe I forgot about the Dark Crystal, that was like my favorite childhood movie. o-o

Haha, David Bowie's teeth scare the crap out of me. And no one's crotch should ever be that emphasized in a Jim Henson movie. Ever.

  •.
    Then again, it's David Bowie...

My sister's name is Kira, XD. I was always jealous she had a fantasy name >.>...

Gelflings = awesome <3. And skeksis are great.

I don't know about David Bowie's teeth XD. His hair is very Tina Turner.

  • I know! It's amazing. Who would have thought that A Christmas Carol could actually have music in it?! It's great... gotta love the Muppet take on classics...

Yep =D
I remember when I was about 12, we studied A Christmas Carol in English and then had to write an essay on it. I found it soooo dull, I wish we'd watched the muppets version then! xDD

  • See, but I don't actually mind the actual version... but it's one of those where there are so many takes on it (Scrooged, etc...) that you never even have to watch the original if you don't want to...

I'd love having a a fanatsy-ish name, but not one that makes you stand out completely. Like if you had something like Eledriel or something. xD A bit too much.

Yes, yes they are.

His teeth scare me. I thought they were just like that in the movie, but then I saw actual pictures of him (yes, my first David Bowie experience was through the Labyrinth) and his teeth are actually like that. D: In one of the pictures anyway.
He so pulls off that style though.

Jim Henson's creature shop rocks.
I've seen the Muppets in 3D movie in Walt Disney World Florida and couldn't stop laughing. Those characters are so very alive <33

My father loved the Muppets and still does. I remember watching them on TV when I was little, but I don't see them on anymore. For my father's birthday last year I got him the first season on DVD. It was his first choice movie for a couple weeks, and that is BIG with my father. He was so happy.

  • Aww... that's pretty cool x3.
We have one of the CDs of the muppet show, and the "Mahna Mahna" song really caught on at our school a few years back because my sister started to sing it all the time XD. It was like a big inside joke.

My little brother and I would always watch Muppet Christmas Carole together when we were little. And I'd watch Muppet Babies in the morning. There was also this movie called the Frog Prince with Kermit and Sir. Robin the Brave that I was addicted to as a kid. I still have a copy of it around here somewhere. I'm eventually going to buy the Muppet Show D.V.D. set.

I've loved all the muppet movies I've seen, as well as most Jim Henson productions, I am a big fan of puppets. ^_^

I actually saw The Muppet Movie (very little then) and The Muppets Take Manhattan in the theatre, that's how old I am.

I really liked the musical/performance themes they had.

And I loved seeing Kermit on his bicycle. Back before all these cgi movies were all like 'wow how did they do that?' But it's just as well they never explained it. Sometimes you want to keep the magic.

I only remember watching Muppet Treasure Island. Which I think is the greatest movie, by the way.

My family watches a Muppet Christmas Carol every year during Christmas time. Needless to say I love the movie lots.

Jim Henson did a Jack and the Beanstalk movie, but it wasn't the muppets. My mom rented it from Blockbuster thinking they'd be in it but they weren't. It was an interesting take on the story, but it wasn't a Muppets classic.

Those fairy tales were actually very good, but they had a different sort of charm than the Muppets. The Muppets are just so infectious.

Which reminds me, I just watched the Seth McFarland short about the Scotsman Who Can't Stop Shouting at the Screen While Watching a Movie. The Muppet part is the funniest part of the whole thing. Which is short, but still ...

Not a Seth McFarland/Family Guy fan, though. Just not that funny. Okay, but not awesome.

I used to love The Muppets! Oh, and Muppet Babies! I loved Muppet Babies! There was also a very funny Muppet's Skit on SNL 2 weeks ago, with Seth Rogen.

I think that muppet treasure island is the best of the muppet movies. The worst would have to be muppets in space.
