Are there going to be new poses? I understand this is a forum based community and I know you guys aren't gaia, but I still think it would be really interesting to have a couple of different poses for our avatars.

Perhaps in the future if we have a lot more pixelists who are able to edit/redo our 6,000+ items to fit the new poses. But it will be a long while, if it ever happens. ^^;

It would be cool, to see new poses. If you guys keep the site personalized you will make more money. I may decide to donate to this site soon. I'm waiting to see how it goes.

Well, just keep in mind what CK pointed out - it requires the pixelists redo every item to accommodate those new poses.
Say there's a pose where the far arm is bent upwards. Every shirt with a sleeve now has to have that sleeve redone. Every glove or arm-item. Every handheld item that goes into that hand has to have a pose added where the item is moved upwards. Items (like staffs) that don't work in that pose by simply being moved up now have to be rotated or otherwise reworked.
Now keep in mind that we have, I think 4 pixelists, who already have to make the CIs every month, work on upcoming event items and commons, and then work on normal commons too. And everyone wants new hair styles. Not to mention their lives outside of pixeling.
Now I'm not saying this could never ever happen, but at this stage in the game, it's a little too late to make a change like that. It's a lot of busy work just to be able to move an arm. All that work, and all you get is an arm with one new pose (repeat the steps I already mentioned if you want more than one arm pose). Hours of work that don't go into new items or anything like that. It's just kind of not worth the effort, you see what I mean? A lot of effort for not a lot of results.

Not to mention that those 4 pixelists didn't make all of the items on Menewsha.
I'm sure a good-sized handful of items were made by artists who are no longer working for Menewsha.
Each pixel artist has their own unique style, so if another artist tried to redo a part of that item, it wouldn't look the same.

I'd like new poses too, for what it's worth. I'm betting that the pixelists in their hearts wish they had other positions to work with so they could do neater things than what we currently can do. :)
But it'll require more staff than we have right now. And, of course, the money to pay the staff.
So if you stick around and decide to donate, the donation may be another coin in the bucket that one day gets us enough staff to tackle such a project. ;)

I'd love new poses, but i'll hate all the extra time consuming work that is needed to support it before and after implimentation

Everyone's said pretty much everything that's required, I just want to add that while different poses would be great, I don't think you quite comprehend the timeframe or the amount of money that something like this would require. As has already been mentioned we have over 6000 items. It's taken us 2 and half years to get that many. It would take much the same kind of time to do everything that was required to complete such a project.
This would indeed require a team of at least two and preferably three people who did nothing but add the new poses to the existing bases and clothes for twelve hours a day, every day, for months. Our current pixelists wouldn't be able to do it because if they did that would mean no store updates, no contribution items and no events until the project was completed, because they would have no time to do both.
As Heruuna states, a lot of our items were pixelled by people who no longer work for us and it is very difficult for one pixelist to try and emulate a style that is different to their own, so some of our more detailed pieces would be very hard for someone else to replicate and have the new sleeves and so on look right.
And as CK states, lack of funds prevents something like this from happening at the present time anyway, because for it to be a worthwhile project we'd have to hire top-flight pixelists who could work fast and to the standard that we require and people like that expect wages of between $25 - $50 an hour. That's $1000-2000 a week for just 1 person working a 40 hour week. The site does not make that kind of money.
So while we'd very much love to have different poses, without a LOT more donations coming in it's an impossibility I'm afraid.

Aside from the pixeling, which would cause a LOT OF PROBLEMOS just because of what was prestated, I'm sure Inso would have his work cut out for him coding the actual poses into Mene. I would like more poses for the Menewshan avatars, but at the same time, I realize it's late in the game for you guys to do that.
Besides, you guys make up for it in awesome pixeling of the EIs and CIs, as well as a vast array of poses.
If you really wanted to do something with the bases, the only thing I would say is shift the fingers. You could more or less cheat on that to where you wouldn't have to change clothes. But once again, that's still a pain in the arse. Especially with gloves. oAo So that's more or less a passing fancy. XD

I dunno, Silver, that'd be an awful lot of effort for a barely noticeable change. Our fingers are quite small.

I can't see how moving the fingers would be a good aesthetic change. The only real changes that could be done would probably be the opening and closing of the hands. Or maybe flashing a peace sign. XP
Besides, I'm happy to sacrifice various poses for items that you can multi-equip. :insane:

Well actually, if you think about it, moving the hands could also make for a different position of holding an item. That's what I meant, really, lol. It all depends on how exactly you do it. But tis still a lot of effort, you're right Cherry.

Well, it looks like this idea has been shot down :( I understand why. How about items that have different poses that are only allowed when wearing the set outfit only? I think it could be something that could be done little by little.

How would that work, Kole? The base would still be in the current pose.

For the new items that would have different poses the base would be added on for that item alone only if the user has the items on allowed for the pose given.
For example say a knightly sword item could be held up, the sword would be part of an outfit set like a knightly tunic and pants and helm and the new pose would only be available only if the user is wearing the set and only the set otherwise the pose will not be available.
