What I'm wondering is how many folks bring artwork everywhere with them?.
I was going to tiltle this thread; how dedicated of an artist are you?...Then I decided people who only do artwork in one place can be plenty devoted to their artwork so I changed the tiltle. I have a feeling many pro artists only do work in their studios. Maybe you are the kind of artist who prefers to work in one place, prefers being alone etc.

I joke that I rarely am far from a drawing pencil with some paper.
I often have fallen asleep next to my clipboard and drawing pencil. In the morning they'll have fallen onto the floor.
I bring bags devoted to my artwork places .Which is kinda odd in itself because I almost never carry a handbag. I can't be bothered to lug around a handbag, but I could bring artwork with me.
My work bag is larger in diameter then a typical handbag, but it's also flatter.
I've been searching for a better travel artbag so I can indeed carry my artist's work everywhere more easily. The fact the such an item does not seem to exist would indicate that most artists are not into taking their work everywhere.

Needless to say my artwork has gone some unusual places.
I have taken my artwork; backpacking, kayaking, camping, social gathering of all types and places and concerts/.
I think the only time I don't bring drawing with me, is when it's physically impossible or difficult. Like for instance, I do not often bring my artwork kayaking.
It takes a special kayak trip since you can't paddle and draw.
I am on vacation right now, using some old non mac computer which confuses me slightly. Yesterday I took my lap clipboard out to draw at the beach. Drawing at the beach is awesome, if one can find a way to hold paper down when the wind rolls in.

I think this is part of why I realized I need to keep working towards being pro, because it's not just a job for me, it's a lifestyle. And isn't that what an ideal career should be?.
In the next thoughts, I think if I'm such a decided, experienced artist and still do not produce work up to par, then maybe I'm not pro artist material afterall.
Most pros with my experience level would be making money by this time. Very depressing, but I can't let it hold me back from achieving what I was meant to do.
I know if I "give up", I'll only change my mind so might as skip the "giving up" step and not waste time.

I keep the comic book I'm working on in a binder. Well... several binders, actually. Up to six at the moment. The current binder is turquoise.

But in any case, I bring the current binder I'm working in with me at all times. If I don't, I feel like I don't have anything to do and I'm lost. I also bring plenty of cardstock, a travel case of Stabilo pens, a chisel-tip sharpie, a couple microns, and a pencil.

And people I don't know very well see me working on the comic book and they're all like "wow you're good" and then I advertise and get more viewers. And people I do know see me and go "NEW PAGE??!"

Then begins the chase.

I always keep a sketchbook or some paper in my bag, but I like to draw at my apartment or with a group of people at an Art Jam. I usually draw in the evening or late at night at my apartment too. When it comes to digital stuff, I almost always do it at school when I'm bored between classes.

I love traveling with a sketchbook, it just makes time fly by and I always am more creative when I'm relaxed (traveling on a plane is always nice). I cannot draw when I am angry or sad. It just won't happen. I get scribbles or end up getting more frustrated if I try.

and you, don't give up! ever. dont give into society. be a weird art kid forever! =D

I bring my art supplies with me everywhere. I have this big brown tote bag and I usually stuff my supplies in there. My mom gives me a funny look everytime I bring it, but for some reason it just makes me feel more comfortable. I even have a small kit of supplies I bring to school everyday.

A few pencils that vary in hardness
A big white eraser
A sketchbook

And I recently got some more markers, but I think it'd be a little ridiculous to bring all of them to school. So I make bring 6 or 7 colors. 3 for skintones, 2 for hair, and 1 or 2 for other.

I never drew in public before because all my sketchbooks were too big for me to lug around everywhere, so recently I finally gave in and bought a little (6"x9") one. It travels everywhere with me now, but I always forget I have it with me so I've only drawn in it twice in the two-odd months that I've had it. I'm also kind of self-conscious about drawing in public, since I'm kind of worried that someone will see me and ask to see what I'm drawing, which would most likely be some very very simple little gesture sketch, just to get an idea down for later. Or possibly a slightly unflattering drawing of them.

I used to use any piece of paper I could find, whether they be napkins or assignments, and I used to draw/doodle/sketch any time I could. Now, I find myself drawing in the gym in my house, because it gets the best light. Usually, I use whatever utensil I have, a mechanical pencil usually, but sometimes it is a pen.

I'm not really into going to public places anymore to draw, mainly due to self-consciousness. Sometimes I will go to the cemetery and draw some of the older grave markers there.

I often find myself tugging along my clipboard and mechanical pencils with me everywhere. In all seriousness, there is no place where I don't have my art supplies. I take them just about anywhere and everywhere I possibly can.

I am definately one of those travel artists. My life is almost based off of my doodles/sketches. I love to try various styles of anime art and I've done a couple of anthro doodles along the road too. I have been recently going on this pencil shopping spree. Seeing as how I go through about 4 to 5 mechanical pencils each day, I find myself heading out to Walmart more and more for pencils and those cute white erasers.

My favorite thing to do is to take my clipboard on long roadtrips. There is nothing more relaxing to me then sitting in the back seat of my mother's van and blaring my music while sketching something pointless or cute. I've been doing that for about.....four years now. And even then, I still have my clipboard and pencils by my side.

I also like to draw in public places because I find it so hilarious when people stop to look at what I'm drawing whether it be anime or scenery. There are times when I even forget about it and bring my clipboard into the shower....thankfully unscathed and dry by the time I realize it. But, I think that's what's going to help me in the long-run. To be a better artist, you need to practice like crazy. And, if I wasn't already such a drawing fanatic, then I might not be as good as I think I am today.

I'm a professional artist and though I do a lot of work in my studio, I also find myself sketching all over the place. I keep pens with me all the time, but forget paper, so restaurant napkins, place mats, you name it and I draw on it. Makes for interesting art.

I've grown up around artist all my life and I've tended to notice that with any medium you need you carry it around with you at all times if you wish to get any where at being good at it. Like guitarist, they lug their instruments around with them all day if they tend to be good. Because you never know when the next moment might come by when you come up with something good.

I almost always have a sketchbook with me, no matter where I might go. Whenever I don't take one I just end up doodling on napkins and other things and end up bringing them home to stick in a sketchbook or folder so, yea. I find it easier to just carry a sketchbook and a few pencils around than to later have to find a place to stick my napkin-scribble where I won't lose it.
