7 dead, 20 wounded at fort hood, Texas. One shooter in custody, one or two shooters at large. Battalion avenue across from the Solider readiness processing building. SRP building is being thought to be where one of the shooters are hiding. They are saying to avoid the fort and and stay in your homes.

What?! Oh shit! I see it on yahoo, two people on the army base shot and killed seven people?! That's nuts! It also says there were twenty people wounded!
Actually now it says twelve are dead and thirty-one are wounded.

Doesn't surprise me to be honest... doesn't surprise me at all. Texas is kinda crazy, no offense to all you Texan's. But add that up on the bad economy and you got problems waiting to happen

I wonder if it was an actual army person.

Apparently the shooter and suspects were in army uniform. It happened during a graduation ceremony for soldiers who were unable to attend their graduation ceremonies. The shooter was shot and killed by police.

Um...I live in Houston and it's really not that crazy at all. I actually think we were voted one of the top nicest places to live, actually. And our economy down here isn't bad at all; we're actually one of the states that are better off since we make sure our budget is always balanced.
However, that's not what this topic is about. From what I see on the news now, there's 12 dead and 31 wounded. I am not quite sure what happened yet, but I think it was a Muslim that did the shooting from the pieces that I've heard on the news.

The stories are all mixed up. I read that the man who did it was an Army Major who snapped when he found out he was about to be deployed. Also, the latest I read said that he was not actually killed, as earlier believed, and is currently in the hospital. So, only 11 people died. I'm not sure how reliable Yahoo news is, though.
No matter who he was, or why he did it, I still think it's horrible. Here all these families are worried about their loved ones being killed in a pointless war, and instead they get shot right on their home soil, by one of their own. Don't get me wrong, it's horrible to lose a loved one over anything, but this is just...It hurts more when it's someone you're supposed to be able to trust. Does that make sense?
