Do you like it?
Does it bother you?
Do YOU do it?

I'm curious to see the opinions on it.

Hmmm, I'm a girl who likes wearing men's boxers around the house, does that count?
I don't get why people get all bent out of shape over gender roles, I read an article on CNN about the countries that have the most happy citizens are the ones that don't force gender roles on their children.
Personally I think that people should just be who they want to be and do what they want to do as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Androgynous boys I think are hot and there's nothing sexier than a man or a woman who is confident and comfortable with their own sexuality.

Honestly, it bothers me to the extent that I don't look at their direction. It's mainly the skimpy clothes on old men, though. To look that way is just an eyesore for anyone.
However, if I was a country maker/leader - I wouldn't force people to change because of their own actions that they decide to do.
I don't think i crossdress, but I wear guy's clothes' moderately. Actually, I think it's better if they look good in it.

Lol, well Socks, I do agree, there are somethings nobody should wear. I think it's a matter of some people having no taste.

I think it's all down to the end product. The general problem with a guy wearing a woman's clothes is that a great deal of men have no dress sense, so they end up looking less than great. That's maybe what causes some of the bad feeling towards cross-dressers, because they end up looking so odd/silly that people react badly to them. Also, when it's a man in woman's clothes, the way most men move/walk/sit etc. they're just not designed for feminine items and it tends not to work.

I always feel sorry for transgender guys who are big and beefy, because even if they can get the clothes right, and not just wear short skirts and loads of make-up to try and look like a woman, their body shape is against them.

So yeah, I have nothing against cross-dressers, each to their own. But I do prefer it if they make an efort to look good.

I think people should be able to dress how they want.
I mean, it may not be for me but who is it really hurting?

I don't mind cross-dressing when it's not for show. Like, when people just do it to get attention, it kind of takes away from it. Like the guy I saw downtown in the silver sequin dress and the blonde wig. It was just for show, and didn't look to good.

I think it would be cool if guys could casually walk around in skirts, suitable skirts mind you. If the shoe fits, right?

I don't really cross dress. I like my clothes.

Yeah. .
Body shape is a big enemy in that department.
I can personally vouch for that XD

Yeah that's one thing I hate about drag.
It ruins the image for those that have no intention of taking it to a ridiculous level.

Really. If everyone were just sensible about what they chose to wear then we probably wouldn't be so controlled by gender roles. It's easy to argue against something when it looks bad on the person, but if it looks good on them, who's going to argue with that?

@ Ben and Jelly, then again there are many women that suffer from poor body shape issues as well.

I don't mind cross dressing at all, I tend to do it sometimes, though I go both ways so it really depends on whether I feel like being in a dress or a suit at the moment or not. Most of the time I just go with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. I like being ambiguous xD I hate how my voice always gives it away, it kind of spoils the fun of trying to be neutral. >.>

It's a shame how body structure ruins it for a lot of people. Sometimes I see pieces of clothes I want badly, but even if I do buy it I will never be able to throw it off looking good on me. It sucks.

It has never affected me, and therefore I am not bothered by it.
Personally I think as long as you are not hurting anyone or yourself that it is perfectly fine.

Technically I cross dress all the time (at work, anyway), simply because collared white button-up shirts are easier to find in the men's department than the women's. And I wear an apron over, so the fact that they aren't tailored to fit my body shape doesn't show.
That's the only problem I have with cross dressing; men and women are shaped and move different, so a piece of clothing designed for one won't necessarily fit well on the form of the other. If it does fit, though, or if the wearer alters their body and posture to suit, I see no problem.
Sure, it's gross when overweight old men wear mini dresses, but it's gross when they wear nothing but shorts, too, and I see that happen far more often. Taste and gender roles don't necessarily go hand in hand.

I don't mind it ^^
Personally, you can find me wearing men's Tripp pants and t-shirts sometimes. And then, most of the time now.. Almost every day I wear a men's suit jacket. ^^ they're comfy, warm, and have just the right amount of pockets in the right locations <3

There's a family of cross dressers that come to our rocky horror group, and they start very young...you can't tell the little six year old girl is a boy, by any slight of the imagination. they're quite good really. They're good people, they go through a lot for their right to dress how they please.

it doesn't bother me one bit honestly, i grew up around people with gender confusion, gender neutrality, etc.

I guess I feel that my opinion is really moot here. I honestly believe in the "To each his own" philosophy. That said...Cross dressers who do it good, like Ru Paul, are just wonderful! He puts the "FAB" in Fabulous! I have known another crossdressing guy (dressing as a woman) though, who did NOT know how to dress, and the result...Just looked...Odd. Still If she was happier as a tacky she than as a he...Okay.

I don't think I really do it myself. I like to mix masculine and feminine items when I am going out dancing or whatever...But the items I wear are all items purchased from the woman's department (like my black goth boots, etc.) So, I am not really sure that is the same thing.

When I was younger I did wear men's jeans, but that was because it was the end of the 80's and women's jeans came up WAY too high (like way above the bellybutton) and being a very short woman, with a very short waist...I did NOT like my jeans coming up to below my breasts! NOT comfey!

I really don't care what a person wears, so long as it's tasteful and they dress for their body type. Yeah, it'd be gross if a really fat guy wore a miniskirt, but it'd be just as gross if a really fat woman did. ><
Men in drag obviously aren't very common in regular day-to-day life (unless you live in more gay-friendly areas - not that every drag queen is gay), so I'd definitely notice if a guy were in drag. But as long as it was tasteful (see above), I'd probably smile a little that he felt comfortable enough to not hide the way he wants to dress, and brave enough to go out in public like that.
Sure, sometimes drag queens can look kind of creepy, but hell, so can the forty year old women with orange, leathery skin, peroxide-blonde hair, who are dressing out of their teenage daughter's closet. ><
And I don't think anyone even spares a second glance if a woman is dressed like a guy, unless it's really obvious like a tux or something (and even then it's just barely noticeable). Women can pretty much wear whatever they want and have it be normal.

Actually I'd like to point out that a good portion of crossdressers are straight.
Not correcting you in an OMG YOU'RE WRONG kind of thing, just pointing it out : P

Well, as far as stage stuff goes, I...halfway do it (androgynous female in unisex clothes in a mostly male-dominated industry here), but not exactly. As for my opinion on others doing it...hey, whatever floats your boat. I've seen some people who look pretty awesome as the opposite gender, others who are just downright comical...but hey. You wear what you like, that's totally fine by me.

Way I see it though, crossdressing just for show should be confined to the stage, never done out on the streets. It kinda kills it for the people who just want to wear clothes designed for the opposite sex because they like them. :/

When I was younger, I was weird about cross-dressing. It seemed like it would be something that society would dislike, so therefore I disliked it to, but I dressed my little brother in my dresses all the time without a second thought.

Nowadays, I'm neutral about cross-dressing. It's all in good fun, and those who cross-dress to be closer to the gender they feel like they are, well, good for them then =)

It doesn't bother me either way. There are some girls and guys that don't look right if they wear gender specific clothing. I'm gender blind anyway so I tend not to really give a thought about what gender someone is when I look at them and see more the personality behind them. I know it sounds weird but I honestly don't believe in gender roles or that females/males should act or dress a certain way. If it makes someone happy they should be able to do it.

It personally doesn't bother me at all.
In fact, I used to be very into my androgynous look.
I've even put on eye liner facial hair once, though I didn't leave the house with it. XD
Not really cross dressing, but still fun.
I like to be mistaken for a boy sometimes.
One of my gay friends is thinking about doing drag too. :3
I think it would be cute.
