Abilities : Fate can control both water and ice very well for someone her age and she has the ability of clairvoyance, though she has not mastered that skill yet.

Personality : A quiet thoughtful girl with very mature outlook on her future. Unlike most princesses she is not spoiled and takes her role in society very seriously. Strong willed and always looking for a new challenge. She is the bane of the palace guard due to her tendency to sneak out looking for adventure.
Abilities : Some basic spells under her belt, decent sword abilities and quite capable of taking on a man in a fair fight. Leans more towards the fire element than anything.

Adelia was a princess, that much was clear.
She lived in a palace, her mother was a queen, and a grand queen at that. Her mother had ruled alone for the past ten years, Adelia's father had died when she was eight. Though it had been a tragic time for the kingdom, She had watched her mother step through her grief and take her place on the throne.

They had said she would never be a proper ruler, but Adelia's mother had proven everyone wrong. Queen Laura would go down in the history books as a great and powerful queen who had brought the land nothing but prosperity.

A small digital clock in the corner of a lavish bedroom sat blinking the time, 10:15am. The large four poster bed beside it sat unmade and clothes littered the floor around it. A long blue dress hung from one of the top bars of the bed.

Adelia sat at the small french table in her bedroom. Her breakfast sat in front of her, only half eaten. She leaned back in the small matching chair and gazed out the window as she sipped her tea. Her long dark brown hair fell over the back of the chair messily, still un-brushed. In fact the young princess had yet to attempt to get ready for the day at all. She was still dressed in the loose pink Pajama bottoms and white tank top she'd worn to bed.

She sighed, her pale lavender eyes gazing out the window, a bored look on her face as she thought over the schedule that now lay discarded in the floor by her table. It was a habit of the servants to bring in the day's schedule with the breakfast. So far this day was looking to be quite a boring one indeed.

Fate sighed as she walked troughout the lavished castle. She had been studying every last piece of furniture and paying attention to all of the halls that she had come through. She wanted to make sure that if she did not like the girl that her family had forced her into protecting, she could at least find a sanctuary to escape from her problems.

Fate came from a rather poor family. Her father had been the local doctor while her mother had to take care and train Fate and her four brothers. It was some what surprising and disgraceful that she had been so much better at fighting than her older brothers. She wondered if that was one of the reasons that her father had sent her to the castle to protect the princess, or it may have been just for the insane amount of money that her family had been promised.

As Fate got to a large door that she had been instrusted to by a higher gaur, she stops not knowing what or who awaited her behind the door.
"Well there is only one thing to do now..." Fate mutters to herself before she knocks lightly on the door.

There was a soft knock at the door and Adelia quickly recalled the first thing written on the schedule.
She was to be assigned a private guard after that last fiasco. Where she had escaped out her bedroom window and managed to get her self caught up in a bank heist. Ever the servant of justice Adelia had attempted to apprehend the criminals. And while she had been a big help, it was far to dangerous for princesses to go about doing such things.

She glared at the door again and took a deep breath, she stared at the door, "You may come in" She announced with a sour expression on her face.
She did not want a guard. She didn't need some uptight ex-general keeping her inline every moment of the day.
She had gone through a few personal guards already, most of them had been high ranking officers at some point, that had retired from their former posts.

Fate heard the voice and hesitantly reached for the nob and twisted it before she pushed the large door open. It seemed like the heaviest thing that she had ever had to push and she was wondering if her nerves were starting to get to her.
"Um...Hello." Fate calls before she could even see the girl. As the door opened wider she looked at the young brunette before she forces a friendly smile. She could see the sour expression on the girl's face, but she tried to ignore it. "I'm Fate your new body gaurd."

Fate looks around the messy room for a second before she forces her eyes to stop wandering.
"It's an honor to meet you princess." She blinks afraid to make any sudden moves as though Adelia would lunge at her like a tiger.

The princess's scowl became a smirk.
"This is new..." She said softly as she lounged in her chair a little, "Normally I Get boring old men.. but you look my age.."

Adelia leaned forwards a bit, "Well then... you should know this job comes with more than just the standard stuff... Since you are a woman I will also be using you as a hand maid... I don't really like my current one...she gossips to much." She eyed the young guard, "You don't gossip do you? I can't have gossips... they go around telling all my secrets to the papers."

Fate blinks before she shakes her head vigorously.
"No I am not a gossip miss." She says as politely as she could. "But I am also no light weight. I know that this job may come with a lot of risks, but I believe that I can handle it." She says dignifyingly. She did not want to seem as though she was scared of the girl, but the way that she smirked sent a chill down her spine.

She looked at the room disapointedly as she realized that she was probably the one that was going to have to clean it.
'You know this isn't the first time that I have wished that I was a boy' she thinks to herself with a sigh of defeat. 'Damn you extra x chromozone'

Adelia nodded a little and stood up, "Good, Now then you are to accompany me on my escapades... and not hinder me in anyway" She said looking over at the woman. She hoped desperately that she would get away with that order.

Before the woman could respond she started to undress, "Would you mind picking up a little while I change?" She asked boredly, "And how are you with hair?"

Fate blushed and turned away quickly as the began to undress. As the girl told her to not interfere with her 'escapades' Fate felt a little annoyed that this girl thought that she was that ignorant, but she does not say anything. She reaches for a few miscellanious objects before the question of hair was brought up.

"Well I am not very good at hair..." She trails off looking at her own messy blonde hair. She sighs trying her hardest not to look at the girl, but still trying to pick up. "I'm sorry."

"That's fine" Adelia said as she marched over to her wardrobe in her under clothed. She stood there picking up one shirt after another and then putting them back.
She finally settled on a white button down one and a white tank top to go under it. She pulled on the Tank top and and then started to button up the other shirt.

"I can do my own hair... I was just curious to see if Some one else might be able too" She said as she grabbed a pair of black slacks and pulled them on.

Fate continued to busy herself with the cleaning of the princess' room. She was not sure if she liked her or not yet, but at the change of tone she sort of lightened up happy that she was not mad at her for being fashionably challenged. It was sort of doomed to happen since the only girl besides her in her family was far too busy teaching Fate her abilities.

"So can you do anything?" Fate asks absentmindedly. "I-I mean like do you have any abilities like your father or mother?" She adds quickly trying to make sure that the girl did not get the wrong idea about her. She felt kind of dumb for asking the question, but she honestly knew nothing of the girl.

The question came as Adelia sat down. She frowned as she started brushing her hair out slowly.
"My mother is a sorceress... its how she keeps her place on the throne" She said with a small smile, "Oh don't get me wrong...It's nothing to frown upon.... She's incredibly clever. My Father would have been a terrible king anyway" She said almost heartlessly.
She started to pull her hair back into a bun, "Mother is instructing me in the arts of sorcery... Swaying minds, love potions... It all sounds horribly dark I'm sure... but it's absolutely necessary to rule this country. There aren't many ruleing females..and people often try things they really shouldn't"

"Yeah you mean like the great sexism that lies within all of the men that have the least bit of power" Fate scoffs not meaning to respond again. She was going to have to teach herself to keep her mouth shut. She sighs as she decides that it was plenty of time for Adelia to get dressed.

"So what is on the agenda for today?" She asks curiously looking at the girl that sat on the comfortable looking bed. She was somewhat jelous that she had such a nice bed when she had to share a terribly uncomfortable one with her youngest brother.

Adelia looked up at the guard a little perplexed by her answer, "You could go with that I suppose... Or you could simply say that my mother is not of the original bloodline of the royal house?"

She smiled a bit and nodded as she looked around, "Lets see 2 points for cleaning my mess, 10 points for speaking your mind... As for my agenda. Well if you figure that out you get 20 points" She grinned as she pulled on a pair of socks.

"On my personal agenda... is seeing if your fit for the job.." Adelia grinned wickedly. It was that grin that the guards feared the most. It meant that the young princess was up to something.

[[Sorry I ended up making dinner and going to bed before I could post]]

Fate raises an eyebrow at the girl. She was getting points now? How interesting this girl was. She couldn't help but see a bit of herself in the clever girl as she grinned.
"Well do I at least get a hint as to the agenda?" She asks cooly before she began to stretch. She wanted to be prepared for anything and everything.

Fate stops stretching for a moment and straightens out her poofy dress casually as she began to think of what the day could hold for the two of them. She couldn't help but wonder if she really was right for the job.

"Nope no hint" Adelia said walking towards one of the windows, "It's to easy."
This was in regards to the fact that the agenda was still laying by her breakfast table. If the young woman didn't notice it, that was not Adelia's fault.

She started opening the window and then slipped on the pair of shoes beside it as she leaned out gazing out at the palace grounds, "I shall have to make this fun for you at least..."

Fate looked at the girl as she went towards the window and as she opened it and leaned out, Fate tensed up.
"Princess please do not lean out of the window like that." Fate says quickly. She knew that if anything happened to the girl then it would be her head that was going to roll for it.

She hesitantly walks to the princess' side afraid of scaring her into jumping or falling out.
"And it is okay. It does not have to be fun for me." She says.

"Oh but it does." Adelia said turning and sitting on the windowsill a little, swinging one leg out. She was only doing this to irk the new young guard.
"Lets see... I'm giving you five minuets to tell me whats on my agenda...and then I'm escaping" She said holding up her hand to signify the number five.

She started to hum a little and turned her head away from her guard as she kicked her leg a little.

"Well getting down from that window sill is the first thing that will be on the new revised one." Fate threatens trying to sound tough. she had learned from her brothers that the art of intimidation was one that should be mastered if one wants to negotiate effectively. "And then we will..." she trails off not quite sure as to what she was supposed to do. Fate had not seen the peice of paper laying on the tray and odds were that she wouldn't.

Adelia's smile became more cat like as it crept up her face, "Until you can tell me what it is I am to be doing...I Shall remain here. I often sit here... or one of the other windows. Some times I like to mix it up and throw both legs out".
With this she swung her other leg out the window and leaned back chuckling teasingly.
The girl hadn't grabbed her and yanked her away yet, that was a plus so far. She wanted to see how far she could pushed the boundaries if she decided to keep this one.
Yes today was going to be a rough day for this new young lady, if princess Adelia had any say in it.

Fate sighs before she looked around the room trying to find something to help her. There was no way that the girl expected her to know everything that they were to do without any sort of assistance. There had be something that she had missed.

Fate turns away from the girl that was perched in the window and gazes about the room. She did not recall seeing anything that would hint as to what the two would be doing when she had picked up. That left only the bed area. She looked around and then she lets out a small gasp as she spots a peice of paper.
"You know it's not very polite to make your gaurd feel like an idiot on her first day here." Fate says walking over to the tray.

Adelia just beamed that pretty smile of hers and teetered forwards in the window, "But I have to see if you up for the task of guarding me..." She said swinging her legs a bit, "after all I don't want some idiot in charge of my life now do I?"
She swung her legs back in and hopped off the window sil.
"Sword practice should be first... mother hates that I do that first... but I insist. It helps me focus later on..." She stuffed her hands in the pockets on her slacks.

Fate let out a sigh of relief as Adelia came back in through the window sill.
"You really had me worried for a minute." Fate hisses as she looked at Adelia. "I thought that you were going to jump to your death." She takes a deep breath and then looks at her curiously. "You sword fight?"

"Not to my death" Adelia sighed shaking her head, "Really...do I seem the sort to go jumping off to my death? No I would have swung out and climbed down the lattice.." She walked over to the table and stared at her new guard, sizing her up it seemed.

"And yes... I sword fight... To many princesses are weak and vulnerable.. I refuse to be one like that"

Fate let out a long and drawn out sigh. She was not too happy that the princess that she was in charge of could fight. If she could not fight, then she might not pick one, but since she could she might pick a fight with the wrong sort of person. That would mean that she was going to most likelybe more of a hassle than the other princesses and deffidently more of a challenge to control.

Fate looks over at the girl before she forced herself to make small talk again.
"My parents never taught me how to use steel weapons. I have honestly never really held a sword." She admits. She figured that a weapon was a weapon and even if hers had never been steel, they were just as deadly.
