You know you play video games too much when...


Two summers ago I was obsessed with Resident Evil 4. I played it for hours upon hours upon hours for weeks.

A friend invited me to go to a cabin with his family and all of their friends. *laughs to myself remembering* There were a bunch of crows swarming around some trees over the river, and I shit you not, I instinctively reached around and thought, "Crap! Where's my handgun?!" I stopped, and thought for a moment, and busted out laughing. About two hours later we were on the trampaline next to this old shed and I started to get freaked out because of how much it resembled a building from the village in the beginning.

Discuss: You know you play video games too much when?...

By the way, there's really no such thing as gaming too much. It's just hilarious when it starts to enter reality. 8P

Hahaha... well i dont think i have had anything like that happen to me, but i do have dreams that are entwined with the games.
Like the other night.
My dream was about me doing my daily life, But it was in Arkham Asylum from the new batman game XD
it was soo funny lol

Thats exactly what I would have done.
I have a stupid fear of an alien from the aliens franchise attacking me when I walk home from my girlfriends house,
and the dogs down the street remind me of the RE1,2and 3 dogs, cause of their claws on the concrete. I always wish that I had a Shotgun with me for those walks home.

Ahaha, Resident Evil can do that to you.

I can't think of any stories relating to that kind of thing...

I do recall one time when my phone was ringing and I instantly crouched down, like I was answering a CODEC call straight out of Metal Gear Solid. But I think that was me just messing around, because I'm a dork like that.

Seriously though, I'd love to have a cellphone ringtone like that. I'd crouch down everytime someone called / texted me. :"D

Its so awesome. Ive always wanted to do the whole crouch down and talk for a 2 hour "codec call" Only to realize that afterwards, every soldier from the country has found me and are just asking themselves what im doing and making some coffee

Guilty of exactly the same things as you. Exactly. The same. XD;;; And I can't even play games that much.

I blame my best friend. XD She got me into the games, and well...yeah. XD;;;

I also instinctively tried to shoot a lighthouse beacon down one time because it looked like treasure...before realizing I was unarmed...and it was a lighthouse beacon.

Ok, I got one. Its happens to me pretty often.
Ever been in bed in the zone were you start to dream, but your not quite asleep?
Well, I keep having dreams that involve me running, and I have to jump up, or jump over a pit or something along those lines. But My body actually tries to jump when Im lying down.
Its pretty painfull :sweat:

Omg I know! I tend to stumble a lot in that phase and my entire lower half jerks really hard. My heart starts racing and I'm just like, phew. lol :sweat:

I'm cracking up just thinking about that. I'm sure once you're done with the call, and step about 10 feet back, they'll lose sight of you. :'3

Do you have the alert ringtone aswell?
I'd get a cellphone just to have that go off in a classroom, or somewhere that'll have people stare at me. The irony would be worth it when I'm dashing for a hiding spot.

Grand Theft Auto has messed me up in the past.
I remember one time mother and I drove passed a hooker one day. So I decided to make a comment about it that went something like this. "I bet if you ran her over, money would pop out. But you'll have to back up, then hit her again. Because sometimes they just don't know when to die."
I swear, my mother looked at me like I was crazy.

I'd take another way home, but that involves going up a steep hill, thats really dark, and then past a school, that would remind me of RE even more, and I'd have to buy some sort of high calibre weapon of anti zombie beast destruction!

thats one thing Ive never understood about res evil...Especially now in RE5, Fists do more than bullets??? But the Knife does no damage at all??? whats with that?

I have had moments where i have been watching zero play so much, that the sounds from the game has stuck with me.
So ill be walking along & hear the music or the sounds.
Freak me out.
I have recently been hearing noises my computer makes more & more frequently, cause i leave it on all night while im torrenting.
Kinda makes me a little paranoid XD

Ahahahaha! Nice! I tend to hear music from Silent Hill Origins where ever I go. That weird creepy jazzy kind of music. It freaks me out so bad. That and static. 8P

You know you've been playing video games too much when you start wishing you were at home playing your video games. Seriously. I do that. Like today, I was literally gripping the edge of my seat to dash out the door so I could get home faster (ha, not really) so I could play Pokemon Platinum right away. Yeah, I know PKMN. I'm a total dork.

I'll sometimes get the urge to play a videogame instead of hanging out with someone at times. Which is really terrible, I feel bad for being that way.

Although this wouldn't be a good idea, I'd take my DS with me and play Pokemon when I'm riding the bus home. You're satisfied, and you don't have to deal with fuckfaces. Two in one. :3

when area 51 for the PS2 came out i played it all day and night, and one night i was so sucked into the game that when my mom came upstairs and i freaked out paused the game and ran over to her with the controller and started pressing the fire button screaming DIE ALIEN DIE!!!
or the time i just got the wii and thought that i could do everything with a wii mote. make pancakes, use it as soap, vaccum with it. yeah it was one weird day
