I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, or if there's already a thread about it. I searched, but couldn't find one.
Anyway, is anyone else on Menewsha going to be at AnimeExpo this weekend? I'm really looking forward to it!
Edited to add: Though I'm pretty sick at all the GaiaOnline marketing and promotion they've got going. And three entire Gaia panels... GAH. I'm almost seriously considering staging a protest next year.

I've always wanted to go to an convention, and if it had to be any, it'd be AnimeExpo. I've heard it's a great way to meet people with common interests (eh, obviously lol). Never been to one, would definitely want to go. I think Gaia has three panels because well, they're pretty popular.

Yeah, AnimeExpo is HUGE.
I don't object to GaiaOnline's presence so much as their ubiquity, and the utter lack of acknowledgement of other avatar forums.... Also, it seems just another example of their money-grubbing greed and marketing techniques. Kind of forceful. Reminds me of coca-cola, microsoft, and the tobacco companies back in the day.

I'd rather not get into discussion about Gaia. I don't hate it, I'm actually part of their forum assistant staff there. Mene though, is my little getaway from Gaia.
Back on topic though, have you been to AnimeExpo before, and how many times?

(Okay, I'll leave Gaia out! :D I respect you for being a forum assistant, though; that must be a lot of work.)
This is my third year going to AnimeExpo, though last year I only attended for one day.

I'll be there on Sunday. Every year I want to go and check it out but something always happens to prevent me from doing so, and FINALLY this year the guy I'm dating is getting me in the one day of it that I'm free for. He looks like Robert Pattinson by the way so he is dressing up as Edward Cullen for it, and I'm just wondering how many crazy fangirls will approach him thinking he actually is Pattinson hahaha

I wish I could go >_> but it's a wii bit to far for me up here in Canada xD I did just go to Anime North last month and I might be going to Fan Expo next month, but Anime Expo dwarfs before of those shows.

I actually totally OD'd today. XP. The con was SO crowded today -- hallways completely packed with cosplayers and regular people like myself. I think I'm going to be saving myself the $24 in parking and stay home for the weekend. And sadly, it looks like most of the videos, which for me are the main reason to go, are planned to be dubs on Saturday and Sunday, and the subs are all things I've seen.
But it's been a lot of fun, especially the Ichigo vs. Ulquiorra director's cut -- though that was REALLY LOUD. The audience was really active for that, with lots of people commenting in the silences (hilariously) and cheering at all the right moments. I got a bit tired of Inoue's constant "Kurosaki-kun..." gaspy pathetic lines. Poor girl who does that voice. She's so talented (Osaka in Azumanga Daioh, Kurau in Kurau Phantom Memory, and a whole bunch of other varied roles) but gets a pathetically limited part for Bleach. Sorry, ranting there.
So, yeah... I think I might not go for any more days. I'm kind of ready to get back to my everyday life. :)
