I picked up The Boleyn Inheritance on a whim and just loved it. After a trip to Half Price Books, I now have several of Philippa Gregory's novels in my collection. Just need some time to read them!

Who else is a fan? Favorite book? What did you think about the movie adaptation of The Other Boleyn Girl?

Also, for those reading the Tudor series, do you read them in order chronologically or in order of release?

I read them kinda out of order. I read "The Other Boleyn Girl" first, then "The Boleyn Inheritance" But then I read "The Constant Princess" And finally I read the book about Mary (bloody). I think it was called "The Queens Fool", but am not sure.

Reading them out of order should not be a problem, as the way she writes the women stays consistent thought the series, expect Jane Rochford, she just gets crazier.

I still need to read the books about Elizabeth and Mary (Scotts)

I have no desire to read any of her non Tudor books as her "faction" is a little loosy goosey to begin with, and I prefer to be able to pick out the "creative license" in books rather than hope it is all good.

They are really fun reads though.

If you like these books may I suggest you read Alison Weirs novels? Some of the history books are but unwieldy, but the two novels she wrote are delightful. One, is "Innocent Trader" about Jane Grey, and the other is about Elizabeth, I, again, can not recall the title, but I think it has Elizabeth in it.

If you want to know any of the titles I have not been able to recall, just Pm me and I will happily look them up for you.

i've read several of Phillipa Gregory's books. I like the Wideacre series, especially Wideacre. The funny thing about that book, though, is that everyone either loves it or hates it. there's no in-between. It seems like The Wise Woman is the same way, so i'm going to read that one pretty soon.

The first one I read was The Queen's Fool, and it was awesome. I actually haven't seen the movie of The Other Boleyn Girl, but i want to one of these days to see how it compares to the book.

I LOVED The Other Boleyn Girl. I also read the one about Mary Queen Of Scotts called The Other Queen. I didn't like that one as much though...

I am reading The Other Boleyn Girl right now. It is very good. And very long..but that is not a problem. This is m first Philippa Gregory book, and I think I might read another one of her books after this. I love this era! So which book is the first one then?

I've read The Other Boleyn Girl, but unfortunately that's the only one I've read by her. I think she's fabulous, though! She came to my town's library on a book tour so I was able to hear her speak- she's really intelligent. : )

I loved the Wideacre series, though I can't say much on it right now since I read it awhile ago, and I don't remember much. I've also read the Boleyn series and that was pretty awesome also.

I didn't like the movie of The Other Boleyn Girl very much. I finally saw it. It just had a really slow plot. It didn't follow the book at all, it just stuck to the very basic history, i thought. So it seemed more like a movie about the same events with the same title that is completely unrelated.

I finally did read The Wise Woman, too. It's still good, but I wouldn't recommend it as much as I'd recommend Wideacre or The Other Boleyn Girl.

I absolutely adore Ms. Gregory! The first book I ever picked up by her was "The Other Boleyn Girl". I love the book, but loathe the movie adaptation. There were so many things wrong with it, not only plot wise but historically as well that I disliked the whole movie.

As far as her other books, I highly recommend "The Constant Princess". The "Boleyn Inheritance" was good, but I'm more interested in Katherine, Anne, and Mary (Boleyn) as well as Elizabeth and (Bloody) Mary.

One thing I didn't like about the movie of the Other Boleyn Girl is that Mary's husband just kind of disappears out of the plot after she becomes Henry's mistress. They never say he dies or anything, they never say what happens to him. He just never has another appearance.

Right now I'm reading The White Queen. One thing that bothers me is that you know it's leading up to the point where the two princes will go missing in the Tower in London. It says so on the jacket. >_<; So it's sad going on and on and on just knowing they'll disappear. Otherwise, I'm really enjoying the read. I knew very little about the War of the Roses, so I've been taking some time reading up on history too.

I still haven't read The Other Boleyn Girl since it's been out at the library every time I go. So I still haven't seen the movie yet...

I read The Other Boleyn Girl and started the one about Bloody Mary but I don't think I finished it. I plan on reading more of her books sometime hopefully soon but have a growing list of other books to read.
