First of all, let me just say that I am SO glad I had to make my son a bottle right in the middle of the scary part, because I was home alone with him and getting really freaked out.

Let's face it; the acting was terrible! SCOOT, and yes, that's his real name, was only believable when he talked oh the phone. Both of the actors seemed like they were on drugs, especially the ridiculous woman. It is, however, amazing to think this movie was shot with only a $15,000 budget! While obviously no District 9, it was a far cry from the silliness of Cloverfield. Genuinely scary in parts, I was freaked out to take out the trash afterwords! The storyline is good, if unfairly neglected; there's ample room for a sequel. I wish there had been better detail, but I don't know if it looked so bad because there was a glare on the tv, or if my tv's settings are a bit off, or because it's best viewed in a movie theater. The movie's pretty slow in the beginning, but picks up a bit at the end. Actually, the movie's really slow at first.

In short, I would have to say I wouldn't recommend Monsters to just anyone; I think someone with a thing for monster or alien movies would enjoy this. Also, I wouldn't suggest it to someone who doesn't like scary movies.
