I read it a long time ago... I don't remember it that well now, except for the fact that she carried a pet rat around with her at school. I've forgotten most of the actual plot. xD

I think I have it around here somewhere though. Now I'm thinking about rereading it...

Stargirl was one of those books that encouraged me as an abnormal teenager. It was touching, funny, and most importantly, featured a character who was intelligent and willing to be themselves.

However, when I went to the bookstore and found out Jerry Spinelli wrote a sequel, my heart broke. I preferred the idea of the end being uncertain. It seemed a complete entity unto itself.

I hope to read the sequel to see if my kneejerk reaction was just that, or if Mr. Spinelli was trying to cash in on his success with the original. The Stargirl journal felt that way to me.

I have stargirl on my bookshelf and I have been planning to read it for a few days. It looks really interesting but I am reading other books at the moment and am yet to get around to it. Now I want to read it even more. XD.
