Been a while since I've graced Mene but I figured if I get a rp or two going here I'd be more likely to sign in. For the sake of my own laziness and your reading ease everything here is going to be stated rather bluntly. Don't take that to mean that there is no wiggle room with me. I'm entirely open to ideas and working things out with you. So here we go...
My style: - I like 1x1's but will consider group rps.
- I will play female or male characters depending on the rp.
- I prefer hetero. I'll try yuri. I won't do yaoi.
- I play multiple characters. My main character and side characters throughout the rp.
- I make up new characters for every rp.
- I talk out plot points and sometimes need a wall to bounce ideas off of. If you don't like to talk things out I'm not the person to rp with.
- I tend to be online everyday and will try to post as often as I can. Just because I'm online or posting elsewhere doesn't mean I'm able to rp, though.
- I like to post two-three paragraphs per post or at least one decently sized paragraph per character but I am capable of more or less. I don't set out to do it, but I tend to match what my partner gives me.
Rules: - Use spell check and grammar to the best of your ability. In general terms I’m looking for a literate partner.
Put some thought into it. You responses, plot, twists, etc. I always do and really appreciate some devious mindedness on my rp partner’s part as well.
- Real life happens. I get that. I do not have unrealistic expectations of you being online constantly and solely for the purpose of rping with me and I expect you not to have them for me. If something comes up where you don't think you'll be able to rp for a while, let me know. I promise not to get upset about it.
- Don’t come to me with a list of pre-made characters. I hate the sensation of getting sloppy seconds.
The List: Mix and Match as many of these as you want.
Don't be afraid to ask about something not listed here. I probably missed some things.
I usually like a touch of fantasy and romance to all my rps.
- Past
- Modern
- Futuristic
- Fantasy
- Steampunk
- Sci-Fi
- School
- Arranged Marriage
- Love / Hate Relationship
- Betrayal
- Corruption
- Cursed/Enchanted
- Revenge
- Mystery
- Angel (Fallen?)
- Demon
- Elementals
- Elf
- Human
- Vampire
- Guard(ian)
- Knight
- Mage / any kind of magic user, really
- Master / Mistress
- Mercenary
- Noble
- Pirates
- Priest(ess)
- Prince(ss)
- Rogue / Bandit / Thief
- Slave
- Slayer / Hunter
- Student
- Tutor / Teacher
Another Way To Do Things: I like to look through pictures (anime, mostly) and draw inspiration from them for characters, settings, and plot lines. I've put together a photobucket gallery of some pictures. Feel free to look through them (I recommend viewing them as a slideshow) and see if any catch your interest.
If any appeal to you, please fill out the following form to the best of you ability. Our conversation can start from there.
My photobucket account is arranged into the following categories (some by what time era/setting they might fit into):
* Some pictures might be misplaced or duplicates. The sorting job is kind of rough at the moment. I need to go through and stream line things a bit.
The Form: Picture: (link to the picture that interested you)
What character you'd like to play: (The person in the picture, which of the two or more people in picture, someone not pictured, etc)
How you'd like the use the picture: (Plot, pairing, setting idea goes here. Don't be afraid to be vague... just please don't leave this part blank.)

I love you, I love you not...
Genre: Modern/School/Fantasy(?)
Inspired by: [x] and [x]
In junior high, a girl gathers her courage and writes a love note to the smartest boy in the class. She hand delivers it to him and witnesses his rejection first hand. Humiliated, she lives out the end of the school year before her parents are transfered away. It's not until the last year of high school that she and her family move back to the city and she has to face her old crush again. But things have changed since jr. high. She worked hard and became top of the class in her other school and so now she has to compete for the top spot with him. She finds that years of being unopposed for the top spot has left him arrogant and cold. Liking him seems to be like a distant memory. To him, however, it becomes a reality as he falls for his competition and the girl he once shunned.
*This could easily be tweaked to include fantasy elements. I'd love to see a hierarchy of a student council that the girl disrupts with her presence (maybe top student is acting president? The rankings could be updated after each exam, which happen monthly?) or a competition like from the 4th HP book where students with powers are pitted against each other in challenges.
A New Page...
Genre: Fantasy/Any time setting would work
Inspired by: [x]
Twin brothers, one good and one evil, discover a magical book as children. The evil twin captures his brother inside the pages and holds him inside the pages of the book like a prison. He then takes on his brother's identity and grows up pretending to the world that he is the good twin. He does everything he can think of to keep up the ruse, right down to dating a girl his brother might have liked but he secretly hates... and for good reason. She finds the book while staying at his house over the holidays and releases his twin from between the pages and becomes trapped between the brothers as they struggle to end their life long feud.
Untitled
Genre: Fantasy/Elementals/War(?)
Inspired by: [x]
In a world where elemental magic exists, few are blessed with powerful gifts. Each magic wielder bears an emblem of their gift, something like a tattoo, that appears when their powers first manifest near the age of maturity.
A girl gifted with powers of the earth manifests marks across her entire body, which means she will be unusually powerful. As a result, she is both a national treasure and a liability. The government assigns her a guardian. A person to watch over her and keep her safe but also to keep her under control so she does not cause damage to others.
Unfortunately for her government, she falls for her guardian whose loyalties lay with his homeland, not the nation he grew up in and works for now.
Poisonous Chemistry Genre: Fantasy and ???
Inspired by: [x] and [x] and [x]
No real plot here, just something I'd like to work with... which would be a character who works as an alchemist or apothecary. I could even see it going towards a potions master kind of direction and there being a mishap with a concoction.
Untitled #2: Genre: Steampunk/fantasy
Inspired by: Boredom? xD
In the civilized world, technology has long since out shadowed magic, which is limited to the ability of the wielder... where as machines can be far stronger than the person operating them. As time has progressed, however the power source of the machines (crystals, coal, or clockwork made from a particular metal perhaps?) have become rarer and rarer. The call and need for adventurers to go beyond the edges of the great mechanical cities has grown.
The wilds of the world are not unpopulated, however. There are those who clung to their magical ancestry and the ancient ways; revere for the earth rather than fear and a lack of understanding that has become normal in the cities. A small airship is damaged in a storm and crashes to the ground, far from the city where it began its journey. The crew (or at least the ones to survive the crash) find themselves suddenly in unfamiliar territory and having to find a new way to live... all while trying to find a way to repair their ship and find an alternative energy source that is more sustainable than what has been used up until now.
Two Nations Genre: Medieval Fantasy/Royalty
Inspired by: An old rp and [x]
Two nations separated by a river have been at war for generations. The original dispute began because there was a miscommunication with a peace treaty. Both sides feel the other broke the treaty. Built on/over the border river is a single city that remains neutral from the fray of war.
Trade is allowed between countries when transactions happen in this city- but that doesn't stop a great deal of racism between the two countries. Mostly the trade done is of foreigners who will buy and sell with both countries, and reap a high profit because people from those countries would rather buy from a third party than deal directly with those from the nation they're at war with.
The two countries, and their people, are vastly different. One country is on the coast, wet and abundant with trees and the like. The other, across the river is both grasslands (good for farming) and desert at the far end of their country. In the past the two countries have been very interdependent because the Coastal one is not fit for farming, while the Desert country is lacking in wood and the like.
Each of the royal families are known for different, but equally powerful, types of magic. One family can control light, the other sound.
The oldest child of each Royal family has agreed to a marriage that will put an end to the war. Neither is particularly keen upon this as they have never met face to face and both have romantic relationships with others already, but are willing to sacrifice their happiness for peace. Their wedding is to be held in the neutral city.
However, there is a band of foreign merchants (almost mob/mafia-like) who are against this union. It will mean free trade between nations again and cut them out as the middle-men of the trade arrangements in the city. As an act of desperation and greed they stage a massacre in the main square just before the wedding, slaying both the bride and groom.
The two families blame the others for the deaths, not thinking of the third party right away but rather assuming the other side wasn't genuine in their agreement to the marriage and hired the thugs for the murders.
In the fight, a younger sibling in the Royal family is injured. One of the other Royal families recognizes her and brings her back to a town house. She is presumed dead by her family, and doesn't know who the man is who saved her...

A person! At last. I was starting to think that I had the plague or something.
I like those pictures. It'd be an interesting dynamic between the two of them.
Maybe he's popular and smart but terribly under motived by school and she gets assigned as his tutor? But he'll have none of that nonscence and starts to corrupt her (introducing her to his friends, the places he likes to go instead of school, etc?) Or maybe he has a secret of some sort, like magical powers or something, and she finds a book that reveals his secret to her? He could start spending time with her in order to make sure she keeps her mouth shut about it...

We could blend both those ideas into one. We just have to figure out what his secret might be. Magic powers in a world where magic is forbidden/doesn't exist? Or just a forbidden brand of it like dark magic? He could have a mark on him that gives away what he's meddling in... Or he could be a non-human living in a human world?
Well, at least I have someone to share my plague with now. Misery does love company, after all.

Alright, so a non-human. That leaves us to decide what he actually is. I'm partial to a demon or shape shifter, but I'm open to other ideas as well.

Demon it is. What should give him away? A passage in a book? A book about a monthly spell/ritual he has to do to keep up his disguise? A mark he has on his body that she reads about in a book?

No, no. You're being plenty helpful by answering my questions.
A modern setting, then?
And what level of school should they be in? High school?

I think high school would work better. A lot of times if your grades drop in college they will talk to you but not insist on tutors and what not... they'd just as soon let a slacker drop out.

Ok. I didn't know that. I'm still in high school myself. But then again I've never needed a tutor in math. I'm doing the best I can and still holding a low C XD

Each school is different but generally once you're in college you're on your own. You have to take all the incentives and do the work yourself. It's rare that there is going to be someone badgering you like some high school teachers do when you're doing poorly in their classes. *shrugs*
So then... where do we want to start the rp? With him tutoring her before she finds out his secret, with her finding his secret out and then being assigned as his tutor? Or someplace entirely different?

My teacher doesn't badger me. its the average Algebra class and math has never been my strong suit. I turn in everything but its still a hassle to keep the grade up close to a B. I don't even know if I want to go to college yet. I know I should..but I don't want to...
How about somewhere entirely different? L ike a run in where they bump into each other? That way we could set the ground work for what ever type of relationship they'll have. (i.e tolerate, hate..etc.)

I've had teachers badger me when I'm doing poorly in their classes. Usually because they believe I have the capability to do much better than what I am... I would get bored in easy classes and just not try very hard at all, which made my grades suffer.
Hmm, alright. I just kind of assumed they might know who the other one is at a glance since they go to the same school but it would be in character for him not to notice a person like her...

No I do average I guess. Even though I have three honors clases and one AP (college course) they don't say anything when I make a C. Its average so I guess they tolerate it. Although to me its not to good. M ostly because I know I can do better. I just get tired of trying sometime.
Right-so maybe if they run into each other at a party or something? I dunno. Somewhere we know he'd be but somewhere we know she wouldn't go. A party seems like the best idea to me. But then again thats probably because I'm in the mood to partay! XD

So maybe he causes a bunch of damage? One of those knock over a shelf kind of things? It could break the front window and she could be blamed for it? Or maybe the book store has a fish tank to promote a new children's book about fish and what not and that gets knocked over, killing the exotic (and expensive) fish in it as well as destroying the books he knocks onto the ground?
